I am an Intervention Specialist in a middle school.

I have a Master of Science in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Counseling Psychology, and an Associate with an Emphasis in Sociology. I have the honor of being inducted into the International Honor Society of PSI CHI.

I am maintaining chronic kidney disease. which can be challenging some days!

I also have thyroid diseases (Graves and Hashimotos), allergies, and other chronic issues.

I have adult strabismus and Graves Disease of the eyes.

Revamping my goals:
My goal is to ride my stationary bike every day for 30 minutes, depending upon my ankle and my health... I am adding strength training back to my routine 3x a week.

Track, track, track nutrition and fitness
Stick to my kidney friendly diet
Eat more fruits and veggies for snacks!

I want to FEEL fit and strong
I want to LOOK fit and strong

I want to feel GOOD everyday

I want to be able to have endurance with minimal pain

I want exercise to become like a second skin to me

I love to crochet and swim.

I LOVE Detroit Redwing Hockey (watch every game I can) and Tiger Baseball teams!

Nine years on Spark fighting through major and minor health issues along the way may have detoured me on my journey to losing weight but it has never waylaid me to leave spark.

I continue to Spark on through it all - learning new ways to gain health by sticking to a healthy diet within my calorie range, especially when I am recovering from surgery.

I have had fifteen surgeries/procedures - ten within the last 12 years. I have a left ankle impairment - I was hit by a drunk driver 18 years ago.

I don't make resolutions. I make commitments to myself, knowing that along the pathway to health, I will take many detours on this journey.
BUT, I do have goals I strive to meet.

I have learned that I have to be willing to give and to take, push and to shove, fighting my way - full blast head first through conflict, defeat, and sometimes even despair. But, always on my way I go.

I know that my God, well He is limitless. I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. I shall overcome and I shall not give in.

My goals include:
I am consistent with these:
Stick to my kidney friendly diet
Sleep 7-8 hours - on track but I need to change my hours a bit to prepare to return to work this fall
Stick to my 8 servings of water, 1 cup of cranberry juice and my two cups of tea a day
I need to work on:
Cardio 30 minutes 3x a week
Strength training 3x a week

Encourage my hubby to workout with me and to continue to eat healthy with me

I will continue on my journey to health... God is good and He is faithful! I will never give up on my health.


My Program:
I eat 5-8 servings of fruits & veggies every day, lean meats, and fiber-one cereal. My beverages include water, tea, and one cup of cranberry juice every day.

99% of my meals I cook from scratch. When I eat out - I stick to very basic foods.



Personal Information:
I live in Yale Michigan.
I am 54 years old.
Married to Don, we just bought a new camper and run away as often as we can, as we purchased a membership to private campgrounds in Michigan.
We have 4 grown children and 7 grandchildren.

I live in 2nd stage Kidney Failure, OA in my left ankle, Graves and Hashimoto Thyroid Diseases, allergies, and asthma.
I have lowered my cholesterol, gotten my asthma, headaches, and sinus issues under control. I have become more mobile and flexible.
I love to swim, bike, or walk,

I love my Lord Jesus Christ!


Other Information:
I love to watch movies with my husband. We still date after 30 years together and just celebrated our 28th wedding anniversary.

I especially love time with my grandchildren
