After years of feeling like a failure, I have finally found new strength and optimism to reach my success and dream. I now have hope and I am on the road to success. I am slowly laying the foundation for my new lifestyle because I am learning as I go. I feel that if I thoroughly learn what to eat and how to cook a healthier way of cooking I can give my body a better chance to heal itself and become the healthy person that I want. And the healthy person that my family needs. My younger children are all soccer players and some are soccer referees. They keep themselves trim and fit so they are in excellent health for performing in soccer in whatever capacity needed-soccer player or referee. I have gotten so overweight that I can no longer go to the soccer field and kick the ball around with them. They miss that and I miss that. I WILL BE GETTING BACK INTO SHAPE, NO BETTER SHAPE THAN I WAS THEN. WATCH OUT HERE I COME.

My Goals:
Goal 1- lose 213 lbs.
Goal 2- improve my health
Goal 3- learn to like myself, be positive
Goal 4- get PHYSICAL, become more active
I haven't felt this positive about anything in a very, very long time. I have been sitting on the sidelines long enough, it is now time to get me into shape and work on improving my health. I have many goals to work on. When I first started with Sparkpeople in 2008 I had 185 pounds to loose. I tried very hard to lose and was somewhat successful. After a Time I fell off the wagon and I fell hard. I did not have the support at home that I needed and I mentally could not get over the hump. My main goal of loosing 185 lbs. ceased to exist. My new goal then became to maintain and not to gain. I felt so out of control and helpless. I lost my grip, no moral support from the home front---the one person that I felt that I needed it from the most refused to be there for me.I was in the deepest hole that I had ever been in. That was then,this is now.

My Program:
I am going to attain these goals by eating healthier, acquiring a better, more positive attitude, taking out time to meditate , regroup, and learn who I am and what I want. I will also become more physically active by exercising and building a body that can move and breathe without strain. But most of all I will not forget to appreciate my cheering team---my moral support for they are my strength.

Personal Information:
Oklahoma has been my home almost all my life. I was born here in 1953 and have only lived outside of the state a total of 6 months. I am the very proud mother of 5 children, 3 daughters and 2 sons. I married at 19. My first husband was 9 years and 10 months older than me. I was expecting my first child and was almost 2 months into the pregnancy when my husband was killed in an automobile accident. A victim of a drunk driver. This episode left my life in shambles for a long time. I couldn't function or carry on with my daily life. By the time my daughter was born I pulled myself together and lived totally for her. My life evolved around her. She was my life!!! About 4 years later I met my second husband. I tutored him in English and a few other subjects. He was a very kind and considerate person. Over time we developed a dating relationship and became serious. This was when I introduced my daughter to him. They became very fond of each other from the beginning.

Other Information:
I am the mother of 5 ranging from 38 to 19 yeas old. Being their mother has been the highlight of my life. My oldest is married and from her I have one lovely granddaughter. My other 4 children are in college. My oldest son is finishing up his degree in mechanical engineering, my middle daughter is finishing biomedical engineering, and last, my youngest daughter and son are both working on their degrees in aerospace engineering.
