Ready, Slow & Steady!

I'm a 35-year-old who's struggled with weight since I was about 10. I was diagnosed with probable Multiple Sclerosis in February 2011. I'm losing weight to help alleviate symptoms and to be a more active member of my family and community. I trust God to carry me through the rough patches. My highest weight ever was June 2, 2005 (the day I delivered my youngest child) - About 335 lbs. My height is 5'8".

I'll be documenting my weigh-ins here on my SparkPage. This time it's for LIFE! ...

*Work my way up to 60 minutes of physical activity per day most days.

*Say goodbye to the "morbidly obese" label (262 pounds). - GOAL MET 05/21/12

*Say goodbye to the "obese" label (196 pounds).

*Say goodbye to the "overweight" label (164 pounds).

My Program:
I'm tracking calories and nutrition and activity here on SparkPeople.

My calorie range is around 1500-1800 calories per day. I try to follow a lower sodium lifestyle.

I try to do at least 20 minutes of daily activity and I strength train here at home with dumbbells on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays when I am able.

Other Information:
I'm a wife, a mother, a Sunday school teacher, a singer, a lover of life!

Thanks for adding me as a friend! Looks like were very similar in height, weight and goals! I love that you posted your weigh-ins each week and your thoughts that went along with it. They almost mirror mine this past year that I have been on Spark People. What a roller coaster ride it has been. So excited to join in the journey with you! I just wanted to say hi and tell you that even though I've been away from SP for the past several months (bogged down with work and stress) I am looking forward to ending the mighty-year-of-challenges that has plagued me this past year and start fresh soon... I may be still a bit scarce around here for the next little while but I did want to let you know that I've been thinking of you and hope you are doing well in life, in happiness, and in your journey.
