Hello, this is Iris from DETROIT and I am 31 Years old!


My dream of becoming healthier is slowly working to my advantage. I have been plump all throughout my teens and adult life. My grandmother even made me join the marching band back in high school (I had to get the biggest uniform they had), so I could slim down some...that only tired me out. I've tried every diet that you can imagine, I can not stand the way I look naked. It is totally disgusting. It is EXTREMELY Hard to lose weight, WHEN YOU ARE AROUND FOOD ALL THE TIME! Mind you, I have a best friend who is a size 5/6 and can eat us both out of house and home...and does not GAIN A POUND! My family is very supportive of me, but I think that I have been genetically linked to being plump. I have been around food all my life...barbeque, sweets, fried chicken, mexican, italian...I LOVE IT ALL! But eating all of that has added pounds to my frame. I am here to fulfill my goal of becoming a healthier individual because I am a Pre-Diabetic. I want to live as long as I possibly can. My motivation: my 2 lil cousin featured in my pic gallery, my mom and my grandmother. With the help of my friends, family, and MY AWESOME IPOD. I am well on my way to making my DREAM OF BECOMING SLIMMER A REALITY. Also, with a few lifestyle changes, I have gone from a Size 22/24 to an 18/20. My ideal size is being a 10/12. I no longer want to put off tomorrow, what I can do TODAY!

This Big Girl is so DONE with:

~ Being the FAT friend w/a pretty face.
~ Shopping in the PLUS SIZE sections of my favorite stores.
~ Having a muffin top.
~ Not being able to wear a bathing suit comfortably
~ Having a double chin.
~ Gasping for air, while climbing a flight of stairs
~ Not being able to play w/my lil cousins, because I get so winded.
~ Having men go through me, just to talk to my sister. I can't stand it
~ The flabby thighs and flabby arms
~ Not being able to find out Victoria's Secret
~ Having to lay down on the bed in order to button/zip up my pants
~ Having relations w/my guy in the dark..cuz I don't want him to see my thickness in the light.
~ Feeling trapped in the seats at the amusement parks.

THIS GIRL IS SOOOOOOO DONE!

~MY MOTTO: IF YOU CAN BELIEVE IT...YOU CAN ACHIEVE IT!~

My Plan of Action

~ Thank GOD EVERYDAY for waking me each day.
~ Exercise at least 5X's a week.
~ Incorporate more Fruits/Veggies into my daily lifestyle
~ Logon onto to Spark People daily.
~ Get in my 8 glasses of water a day.
~ Eliminate soda from my diet.
~ Eat within my calorie range.
~ Sleep for AT LEAST 8 hours a night (So hard 2 do).
~ Lastly, Remain POSITIVE, even through all the negative.

My Ultimate gift to myself once I reach my ideal weight of 160 lbs is lifetime of well-managed health. Not to mention a new wardrobe, and a trip somewhere!
