Caring for the Caregiver

On November 25, 2013 I began retirement 9 years earlier than planned to be a full time caregiver to my disabled spouse. He had been in nursing homes/rehab centers and hospitals for 18 months.

Being a caregiver is probably the best and also the most challenging 24/7 unpaid job I have ever had. Doing it for the love of my life? --- Priceless

I restarted my journey to health on the same day he came home, at a weight of 338 pounds, with high blood pressure, high cholesterol and very little energy.

Today July 5, 2014, blood pressure and cholesterol are both in normal ranges, although still on medications for them, and my fitness activities total 201 hours for the first 186 days of the year.

This is a great place for motivation and support. Let's get our Spark on!

I am evaluating my motives this month and getting them firmed up in my mind and heart. It is making a huge difference for me, knowing why I am doing what I am doing. How about you? Commitment to the journey is greatly helped by a constant flow of understanding the reasons behind the steps taken.
