The un-dieter.

I fill my life with delicious food, real butter, rainbows of veg & fruit, sumptuous meat & desserts--All in moderation. I get fit by renovating our house, playing at the beach, & watching trash while on my beloved elliptical. Life is too short to spend it in deprivation & strain.

I love my body. Sure, I want to lose weight, but I'm perfect as I am. I love my brain too, but I'll always be happy to expand my mind. So, why not love your body as it is and still be happy to improve it?

Your broader grasp of possibilities and understanding in a "walk in their shoes" kinda way in regard to your comments on the Daily Spark Blog made me smile and finds me here checking out your page. It's great to see a voice that takes into consideration what it might be like or what else might be going on in someone's life before making a judgment! emoticon

I read your remark about the Mom and her 555 pound son. Just wanted to say to you that you have tremendous insight of how some of us, myself included, perhaps this is why your comment hit a nerve, have not had all the perks of growing up with a white picket fence, a present or even caring Mom and dad, 2.5 kids, the family dog.

There is a lot going on in this woman's life, and yes, she probably has made some bad choices as I have and continue to do myself, but those who do not have to work multiple jobs as she does, have limited money and little support are not really in the position to rip her apart.

You missed your calling - you'd be a brilliant social worker.

I really appreciated your comments on the DailySpark entry regarding the obese boy and his mother. It's amazing what privileges some people take for granted and how they are unwilling to imagine what life is like for others who do not have those privileges. (I'm sure we all do it on some level, I'm not claiming to be perfect.) I love your attitude about your body and your beauty, I hope your unconditional self-acceptance will rub off on me, that's something I sorely need. Thanks for being inspiring today.
