This year has not been my best in terms of athletic conditioning or diet. I could list off a host of reasons why I have been 'eating my emotions' and working out less regularly. Those reasons, however, are not important. On the contrary, it is crucial to think of some good reasons to get back on track.

1.) I feel happy when I am disciplined and motivated.
2.) I am healthier and more energetic.
3.) I am a better friend and partner when I am happy with myself
4.) Working out and maintaining control of my diet gives me a sense of purpose.
5.) I want to fit into my clothes again.
6.) Running is my passion and good nutrition and athleticism go hand in hand.
7.)I want to look HOT :) - yes, there are superficial reasons too.

I need to remind myself that I am the only one who decides the fate of my body and the course of my mood. There are no external obstacles, only internal ones.


I also would like to continue building back up to the half-marathon distance by running 10k races.

As of 5/24/09, I have officially finished a half-marathon in 2 hours and 2 minutes!!! Goal Achieved.



I am a runner in training, my goal is to run the half-marathon in May.

I want to be in the best shape of my life before my husband and I start a family.


I love to exercise, but my eating habits are sometimes not that great.

I am following the "Eat-Clean Diet" program. It seems to have done wonders for so many people on this site!

For myself I have realized that I feel much better physically and emotionally when I eat clean.

My goal is to keep pushing my body/myself to be stronger. This means controlling my sweet tooth and stubbornly continue implementing my knowledge about diet and exercise even when I am feeling unmotivated or after periods of laziness.

Please God,

Don't Let me Forget that there is joy in hard work, that energy begets energy, that it is in MY power to shape my life, my body, my emotions.

Don't Let me Forget that I can overcome doubt, pain, regret, fear simply by DOING, God is in movement, God is in building.

Don't Let me Forget that contemplation is not my only option and the true philosopher knows the futility of endless self-analysis. The true philosopher knows the value of LIVING life rather than just watching it go by.

My body's journey is my soul's journey. They walk hand in hand toward Enlightenment.

Dear God,

Don't let me lose sight of my goals. Do not allow me to gloat in my successes, to reach complacency. Let me see further into the distance, guide me to fields of wisdom - a panoramic view of the world I am a part of. Do not let me be satisfied, closed in my narrow little view of reality. Help me heal and with my energy allow me to add to the beauty of this immense and wonderous creation.

2010

1.) Learn and Practice Yoga [January-March, I went to yoga once a week for 1.5 hours. I can't say that I love it yet, but I have learned the basics- DONE 3/22/10]

2.) Lose Fat %

3.) Get back into long distance running [I am up to 8 miles 6/2010]

4.) Establish a weight training routine that brings results [still not where I want to be, but getting leaner]




My Program:
Running (30-60 min) 3X a week

Lifting 2X a week

Cross training (spinning, stairmaster, elliptical) 1 X a week

Eating Clean and Tracking my Food.
