My New Life!

I had a vertical sleeve gastrectomy on January 2, 2013. My doctor told me if I stayed at 317 pounds that I would lose 20 precious years of my life over my average sized friends. That scared the bejesus out of me since I would miss growing old with my hubby, my daughters getting married and even grandchildren. I wasn't ABOUT to throw that away.

FAST FORWARD a year and I'm feeling healthy now! I have more energy to keep up with my two little ones and I'm no longer morbidly ...

If you are on the fence about having weight loss surgery - please message me to hear my story. It has been life-changingly amazing and I am an open book. I will share the ups and downs with you. But please know that it may seem scary now but when you are on the other side - you will wonder why you were so afraid to take that step!

Great minds think alike! :) I was just thinking that I hadn't seen you around lately and thought I'd come by your page and see how you're doing...and low and behold, you updated just yesterday! AND YOU'RE HAVING A BABY!!! YAY! I'm so happy for you! Don't worry about your weight so much...just eat healthy and exercise - walking at the very least. I gained 65 pounds with my first child - and lost all of 7 lbs, 9 oz when he was born. When I was pregnant with my daughter, I lost 50 pounds in the first 7 months (had to see the doctor every 2 weeks the whole entire pregnancy), only to gain it all back and then some in the last two - she caused a lot of issues (LOL) - anemia, heart burn, getting sick my entire pregnancy, high blood pressure, the start of pre-eclampsia...anyway, you'll get the weight back off...just eat healthy and at least walk. I hope the rest of your pregnancy is easy for you! I'm here if you ever want to talk! :)

EDIT: I just read your blog about not exercising or eating right...are you a high risk pregnancy? If not, then any kind of exercise will be better than none at all...and will make your labor and delivery easier. So, get to it woman! :)
