I never struggled with weight until I was diagnosed with Thyroid disease. Initially, I couldn't gain an ounce, now almost 10 years later, all I need to do is think about food & I gain.
The odd thing is that I feel good but what I hate is when I catch sight of my reflection. It always startles me. I've gained too many pounds to even admit.
I've turned into an emotional eater (probably borderline eating disorder). I hate what I have become.
I know I can get fit again but I need motivation. I need someone to kick me in the butt.

My Goals:
November 2010, I am turning 50 years old (yeah I know, hard to believe) & I want 50 to be fabulous. I know it can be & am going to make it so.
I have applied to be an Olympic torch bearer to carry the torch as the flame moves across Canada on the way to Vancouver for the 2010 winter olympics. If chosen, I will have to carry the torch for 1 km.....not drop it & not pass out from lack of oxygen. LOL Seriously, I don't want that to happen.

My Program:
I have been vegan for 3 years, which is around the time that I started to gain weight. Most vegans lose....not me! I will continue with the vegan diet but concentrate on portion control. Exercise too.

Other Information:
I am a huge sports nut. Love softball & hockey. I am not ashamed to say that my favourite team is the Toronto Maple Leafs.....ok, well maybe just a bit...they suck lately LOL
