Turning it Around

With a BMI of 37 (height 5' 1", weight 198) at my yearly checkup, the doctor asked me to consider bariatric surgery. I was originally excited about the prospect of rediscovering a thinner me, but the implications and complications of surgery have left me wanting to achieve the same thing a more natural way.

The thought of surgery and all that would follow should keep me motivated.

Please don't beat yourself up over the rice pudding. I've been there and done that. Finally, finally after years of trying I'm having success. I have 70# to lose still, but am so encouraged to be on the right road with my 30# loss since April. It's been very slow but very steady which is what my doctor suggested to keep it off permanently. A doc also talked to me about bariatric surgery, (not my current one thankfully!) and just like you my immediate response was very positive, but after considering the risks I realized there was no quick fix for my weight situation. One day at a time. Keep up the good work! emoticon Ritarose
