When you're ready to do whatever it takes, you're ready to receive whatever you want.

I'm ready. I'm my new project. Now the fun of creating the lifestyle that I truly want begins.

Tom Venuto: "You can either make excuses or get results, but you can't do both."

Toby and Maureen are my walking buddies. They love to go for walks and are so disappointed if we don't do it. I hate the little sad looks they give me when I let them down. Talk about motivation! LOL We try to walk every day. Some days the walks are longer than the others.

I've lost significant weight in the recent past but have managed to put it all back on. I have been fighting depression and I don't know which ones the chicken and which ones the egg... did I regain the weight because I'm depressed or am I depressed because I regained the weight? The jury is still out on that one.

I love Sparkpeople.com but have struggled with using it for awhile. When you are so blue, it's hard to read about other people's joy. It seemed to make me even more sad. But alas, I'm on the up swing and am working on me. I knew a lot before, just need to see how much I remember.

I have to find a little bit of joy in every day. That use to be an easy thing to do! When did it get so hard??? Working on me and my attitude is a great place to start.

"Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don't try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; He's the one who will keep you on track." Proverbs 3:5-6

"For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome." Jeremiah 29:11

My collection of favorite quotes:

Gatorade Ad: You have a choice. You can throw in the towel or you can use it to wipe the sweat off your face.

Unknown: We are not human beings going thru a temporary spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings going thru a temporary human experience.

Shakespeare said, "There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so."

Tosca Reno, "The Eat Clean Diet": "... I’ve come to learn that being consistent does not mean being perfect. I don’t burden myself with unrealistic expectations that lead to disappointment, but I make every reasonable attempt to stay on track because I want to be proud of myself at the end of the day. And if I’ve slipped a little, I don’t allow myself to slide right down the hill; I get back on track. "

Jim Rohn - "If you don't like where you are, then change!
You are not a tree!"

JOYATLAST: "Excuses are exposed for the cheap saboteurs they are at a finish line. "

John Wooden "Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do."

My Goals:
I want to create new habits. Being thin is only part of my goal, being healthy is the other, most important part.

My ultimate goal is to be under 200 by March 15, 2014 in preparation for a Scotland trip.

I want to try and achieve an active lifestyle by adding more physical activity to my days. A reborn use-to-be-couch-potato turned athlete.

1. Trying to get 10,000 steps 2 of 7 days. One day off and 7,000 on the other 4.

April Food challenge: Learn to eat slower and enjoy my food! Remain in the lower part of calorie range 20 out of 30 days for 65% of the time.

April Exercise Goal:
- Reintroduce Lunch Walks - min. 5 days/week and add puppy walk on Saturdays. Try for 28 walks in 30 days. Go for Jazzercise class min. 3x week.

April Goals at a Glance:
----------------------
-Drop 5 lbs
-Walk
-Dance your best

My Program:
Not to give up. I know what to do, but not getting discouraged is the hard part. I intend to weigh in on Saturdays. I can't take the stress of weighing in more than once a week!

Personal Information:
I have four - four-legged kids (hey! they count) and I love them all dearly.

I love to walk and do Jazzercise and recently set up a weight bench in my basement. I have DVDs down there and since budgeting is a restriction, need to find free ways to lose weight. I have some equipment but I hate to workout alone. Have to find a exercise buddy.

Other Information:
If only I could lose weight while reading books. I'm an advid reader but find reading on the treadmill difficult.

Hey, thanks for stopping by my blog -

So, in regards to the food thing - I am always full - I NEVER feel hungry. EVER. it's the weirdest sensation. I would never have thought this was possible.

Once I got through the first two days without the high carbs that I was used to, I was fine. I'm so full these days I don't even miss the foods I used to crave. And that is weird too.

I don't have answers. I'm only reporting what is happening to me and how its going - so far so good!

~Irish

ps - still thinking of you and your family situation. Drop me a line any time if you want to vent, or whatever.

What type of pictures were you asking for? I didn't take beginning pictures of this 28 day plan but I did take measurements. Or did you want pictures of Trainers? LOL

Thanks for the good wishes and encouragement.

DO you know what kind of Azalea it is? Some are smaller than others, even fully grown.

Hooray for beautiful flowers! emoticon

Have a good afternoon!

emoticon You crack me up! As your resident scientist buddy, I'm here to let you know that it's just like it sounds... it's a wet lab. As in laboratory space with equipment and air handling appropriate for chemicals/drugs/materials in liquid or gas form. They usually won't or can't handle any type of biohazard though. It's really just a term used to distinguish this kind of lab from ones handling biohazards (like hospitals or research labs dealing with infectious disease) or ones that manufacture things like computer parts. Make sense? Glad to help you solve a mystery!

DD and I had a blast today! Although we were quite busy. She got to help with a real experiment today - not just one I mocked up for her. We even had a piece of equipment decide to act up... I thought her eyes were going to pop out of her head when I got out the tools and nearly cursed out loud. I caught myself though... I just looked at her and said "now you see why I come home fried and a little stressed out sometimes". She just nodded her head. LOL! We got it fixed and moved along. It gave us a chance to talk about how science isn't always perfect. Oh yeah... we even managed to sneak in the traditional witches brew I help her make. It's pretty fun!
