Time for a new beginning!

My name is Dawn. And I live in Michigan and am early retired on disability. I came upon this site back in 2008. Back then I weighed about 180 lbs. I was off to a good start losing weight until I ended my marriage. Then gave up on myself and this site. I now weigh 229 lbs and am miserable! Time to set goals working one day at a time and begin a worth while journey back to the "Me" I once knew. Time to set goals working one day at a time and begin a worth while journey back to the "Me" I once knew. I had always been much smaller than this, at an average weight of about 140 lbs most of my adult life after having 3 children who are now grown. Then after being diagnosed having fibromyelgia and arthritis I found comfort in emotional eating and sitting online. I'm hoping to succeed at this journey and in turn inspire others to do the same.

"Three of the most powerful words in the English language are 'I AM RESPONSIBLE.' It's tough to do, but when the day comes that you can say those words, believe them, and mean them, it will be the most liberating moment of your life. Taking responsibility for all of your results, for better or for worse, is taking back your power to create results in your life."
-Tom Venuto

"Just because we are knocked down does not mean that we are out.
We still have breath in our lungs and tears flowing down - all signs that we are alive!
Take a deep breath and be reminded that often our biggest struggles are stepping stones to our greatest victories."
-Rae Smith

“The whole idea of motivation is a trap. Forget motivation. Just do it. Exercise, lose weight, test your blood sugar, or whatever. Do it without motivation. And then, guess what? After you start doing the thing, that's when the motivation comes and makes it easy for you to keep on doing it.”
-John C. Maxwell

"The common conception is that motivation leads to action, but the reverse is true....action precedes motivation. You have to "prime the pump" and get the juice flowing, which motivates you to work on your goals. Getting momentum going is the most difficult part of the job, and often taking the first step is enough to prompt you to make the best of your day."
-Robert McKain

"Making changes in your life is never an easy task. The key, however, is not to get caught up in the distance you have to go to get to where you want to be. Nor should you despair over the amount of control you have over your circumstances. Progress is made in the small, intentional steps, and chances are, you have more power than you think. By focusing on little steps you can take every day, the progress you make will motivate you to continue your journey, and eventually, you can go wherever you want to go. The important thing is simply to begin."
-Stephen Cherniske
