My Goals:
I'm trying to lose 10-15 pounds.

My Program:
I try to do my weights program 3x/week...that's hard.
I do a yoga class 1x/week...that's easy.
I bike long distances mostly on weekends...that's fun.
I do my paper route on my bike 6x/wk and in the car (Sundays) 1x/wk...that's serene.

I've started back to Weight Watchers 8/7/08 and trying to stick with it daily...that's hard.

Personal Information:
I live in upstate New York and although I used to say that this is the least scenic place I've ever lived, compared to Utah and Virginia (mountains) and Cape Cod (ocean), this place has grown on me and now it's home. I love that we have all of these challenging hills to bike on and I love trying to identify all of the beautiful and different wildflowers I see on our bike rides.

Thanks for stopping at my blog and for your suggestion.
Actually, I have been playing around with the idea of buying a road bike for awhile, but they are darn expensive-- any good ideas of where/how to find a used one that fits you? Do you cycle with a group?
I teach spinning,so I have some endurance, but I would need to work on doing longer rides. So, to answer your question, yes, I have considered it, independently of my running.
As for the same benefits? Yes, it might provide me with them physically, but honestly, there is nothing like running. It holds a special place.
I ride my bike ( regular mountain bike) and I like bike riding, but it's not the same. Though, I do consider trying it, because I know lots of people who love it and I would love to discover what makes them love it so much.
What do you like about it? Also, what do you do in the winter? Ride your trainer? If yes, how is that?
