My Goals:
My journey is one of learning to live a healthy life when the scale doesn't help! I have been a 145 lb size 4 and a 155 lb size 10 -- unlike most people, watching my scale for changes gives me next to no useful information about what is happening with my body. In this way fat tends to creep on without me noticing it until my clothes don't fit anymore and I really have to do something about it! I have lost (and regained) these 3 clothing sizes 3 times in 10 years -- always a relatively quick loss (about 4 months) and a very slow gain (about two years). This time, my goals are two-fold -- lose the inches efficiently, without being depressed by my lack of weight, and learn strategies to check in with myself in maintainence mode that don't involve trusting the scale.

My Program:
(1) Try to eat the wholest, healthiest food possible keeping in mind that I never have time to cook these days.

(2) Drink enough water + drink a few beverages a day targeted at keeping water retention down (hot water with lemon, unsweetened cranberry juice, teechino)

(3) Up activity level to 30-45 minutes of vigorous activity a day (actually about 60 minutes 5 days a week)

(4) Keep off my scale and keep my measuring tape handy!
