Spring 5% Challenge

Activity plan:
Get in cardio 5 days per week.
Do strength training 3 days per week.
Try a new exercise video on Youtube weekly
Get in 10,000 steps daily

Spring5% Nutrition Plan:
I am committed to tracking my food intake using the Spark Nutrition Tracker. (This is difficult for me!)
I love using the Mix and Match meal planner in order to have variety in my meals.
I am going to reduce my carbohydrate and sodium intake and increase my protein.
In addition, I will get in at least 3 freggies a day.
I will measure my foods and drink at least 8 glasses of water per day.
On my team page I will daily record my exercise and Living the Good Life points, and I will weigh and record my weight weekly. I will check with my team at least three times per week. I will visit team members' pages and blogs as much as I can.

I am looking forward to being physically, mentally and spiritually stronger. Sparkpeople has the tools to help me succeed. Now, it is up to me to put the knowledge to use.
Both of my twins have graduated college.
I am a retired school teacher and look forward to marking a few things off my bucket list.
I enjoy cooking and like to make soup. I eat soup just about everyday for lunch.
I like all types of fresh food and don't follow a special diet. I eat whatever I want. I am logging my food and exercising and believe that moderation is the key to success.
I grew up in the country, and love all things outdoors. I have lots of time to travel, and especially love the outdoors.

emoticon emoticon emoticon Having a healthy snack right before you shop will put you in a healthier frame of mind & lead you to make smarter choices. Snacking on an apple may do more than just keep the doctor away.

If eaten before a grocery store trip, you may buy more freggies than if you ate a cookie (or didn’t have a snack at all). Don’t care for apples? Any nutritious snack will put you that mind frame.

Terri, thanks for the goodie. You have been missed; I've been thinking of you, too. But we understand how busy things can get, especially with what you're dealing with. Nice weigh in this week ... wow, keep up the good work!

Have a Happy Mother's Day tomorrow! And enjoy some calm this weekend.

    Hello, friend.

Thanks for the anniversary wishes! Year 39, here we go...

Hosting 15 tomorrow for brunch. My DIL does every family event b/c her house can accommodate a big crowd. This is one day I give to her so she can relax and be pampered a bit. It is so nice to focus on something besides client work....and I do love to cook. Looking forward to today's prep work.

Wishing you an awesome Mother's Day! emoticon
