No Magic Here!

My children (referred to here as Hermione and Ron) are huge Hogwarts fans, and regularly tell me that I am, most definitely, a Muggle.

And, to this, I tell them that life is hard work.

And, anything worth doing is hard.

If a spell existed to make me healthier, I'd do it in a heartbeat. But no such magic or spell or potion exists (even though many doctors want us to believe otherwise!).

How is your new start going? Mine fell prey to a sinus infection. I'm hoping to be back on track tomorrow!

Thanks for wanting to have me as a friend - friends are 'a good thing'!

We're all big Harry Potter fans in our house, love the books and the movies as well.

I know your kidlets are also fans, and involved with the Scout / Guide programs so thought they might be interested in this little tidbit of HP true trivia...

My oldest offspring has been involved with Scouts Canada as a leader for quite a few years and some time ago was offered the opportunity to represent Canada at the World Jamboree in Thailand as a sub-camp chief. She was the only Canadian to have this position, so it was quite an honour - if only in the opinion of her friends and family! hahaha.

Anyway, she was one of only about a dozen adults at the Jamboree who knew that Daniel Radcliffe was going to be attending - incognito. He was already world famous, but had been a member of British Scouting before he became Harry Potter, and wished to participate along with his friends. He had raised most of the money for the trip just like the other boys in his troop by doing group fundraisers, odd jobs, etc.

Not only did Jennifer know he was there, but he was in her sub-camp. She sat with him at several campfires, and they exchanged friendship bracelets. She said that he was a really nice kid - very polite but had a definite penchant for mischief at the same time.

The funny part of the story was that the Thai people were huge Harry Potter fans, and someone leaked the news to the press that HP was there, so paparazzi were everywhere in droves ... but the boy they were hounding was some other boy at the Jamboree, who sort of resembled Harry - glasses and all, but was NOT Daniel Radcliffe!

This was around the time that only the first 2 or 3 movies had been released, I think - don't remember the exact year.

Thank you so much for the reminder that I need to give myself time to heal. I'm the kind who will give that great advice to others but then forget to take it myself.
