My Goals:
1. Develop consistent, healthy lifestyle habits;
2. Achieve a healthy weight and BMI;
3. Live a more active, outgoing lifestyle

Why I am doing this:
-To ensure good health so that I can be here for my family and friends
-To live a more active, enjoyable life
-To be more comfortable just being me.



My Program:
EXERCISE PLAN:
- 60-90 minutes cardio each day;
--- strength training at least 3 days a week.

DIET PLAN:
-Track what I eat and stay within the recommended Spark calorie range
- Eat whole, unprocessed foods for the most part, and avoid items made with white flour and sugar in all its forms
--Drink at least 8 glasses of water and 2 cups of green tea a day
-Eat 6 or more servings of a rainbow of fruits and veggies each day
-Each week, try something new to help reach your goals

    Thanks for your thoughtful comment! I had to skip a church retreat today precisely because of a work deadline, so I KNOW I made the right decision about being an elder. And the elliptical was a great buy--I hope to be using it for years to come. Craigslist was my friend! I do recommend buying one used if you can locate one with good reviews.

    So went today. Down 3.4. Dietician wasn't impressed. She said one can lose 2 lbs a week. So the 45gm is the maximum for a meal. The idea is to eliminate the valleys (like when you want to eat the house) because the proteins will keep it even. Carbs are what triggers the highs and lows in blood sugar. It's almost like eating like a diabetic except also low fat. She said the reason Americans are so overweight is because we eat way too many carbs. It really is a mind shift.
    Right now I'm about to go out in the backyard and munch on the grass with the bunnies. emoticon
