Live in northeastern Montana.

One of my Spark friends had this on his status (4/28/2016) -- THENEWMICHAEL "When it comes to measuring progress, the mirror is a better instrument than the scale."
WOW!!! That is something we all need to take to heart!

We all have a whoops day. Its what you do the day after that counts... Kaliswalker

JOHAL52 is still in a holding pattern over life. But that's okay--sometimes holding patterns can lead to growth--it's up to me :) -- Her status for 2Aug11 -- A small comment that speaks volumes.

CATINCJ Never set your goals at some else's pace or evaluate your performance by someone else's standards. Added 2May13 from her feed that day.

My Goals:
To exercise more, get more toned, and get to a healthier weight. I would like to stave off any joint problems in legs and hips.

Another goal which I have is to get rid of a lot of the "stuff" I possess, way more than I need to have.

My Program:
Portion Control - although I haven't been real successful in doing this, I am more aware of what portions are and try to stick with them most of the time.

I use the nutrition tracker and follow no particular weight loss diet, just try to get more freggies, less carbs and fat. I have been customizing the "my favorites" list to include the foods I use the most. I have been also making use of the exercise tracker, getting at least 10 minutes of cardio every day. I try to do some strength trainig 3 days a week.

Personal Information:
I live in Northeastern Montana. I work more than full time at a desk job. I spend way too much time on the computer...

Jan, 2016 -- All of this still holds true.

Other Information:
Am a cat person. Like to knit, sew, quilt, garden -- but don't seem to get much of them done.

2/24/2013 -- Several fiber craft people have been meeting during lunch hour once a week to work on projects, visit, and show off our latest projects. We also share techniques when someone has a problem with their project. Some are also starting into spinning using drop spindles.

Sometimes we need help. For many of us the biggest and best small step we will ever take is to reach out and let someone help us. This journey is not about doing it alone – It’s about figuring out what help and support we need to move forward and then seeking out that assistance. Taking that step is not a sign of weakness; it’s a sign of self-respect, hope and strength.

    Seven Healthy Thanksgiving Tips
    1. Eat real, whole, natural food
    2. Eat slowly, breathe deeply between bits and stop when full
    3. Don't feel pressured into eating anything you don't want (food
DOES NOT equal love no matter what the cook says)
    4. Take a walk in nature as part of the festivities
    5. Share, or at least focus on, what you appreciate about your life
    6. Accept everything as it is rather than wishing it were different
    7. Don't engage in any drama going on around you. Just send quiet
    love to all, including yourself.

"You must have long term goals to keep you from being frustrated by short term failures."

Isn't this great??? Posted on my page today and thought it was worth sharing. Helps me to know that the long term goal IS more important than what I feel are so often the daily failures!! Hope it helps you feel more successful on your journey too! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

emoticon Our DQ closes before Halloween. No biggie to me, I've never liked ice cream. I do, however, like both pumpkin and peppermint....just not in EVERY SINGLE THING!!

emoticon There’s nothing wrong with a slow start. Moving forward is moving forward! Beginning doesn’t require a positive attitude, a lot of energy, a plan for your life or even a clear picture of where you want to go. It only asks for a willingness to move forward one small, doable step at a time. So don’t forget about that tortoise and step up to make your life count beginning today.
