It *is* confusing, isn't it?! You'd THINK keeping the weight off would be just doing the same things that helped you lose weight. And most weight loss programs tell you exactly that.
But the fact is that only about 5% of people actually manage to stay close to their goal weight in the long term, and up to 20% only manage to keep about 10% of their starting weight off, that means 80% gain it ALL back, or even add some.
So what the weight loss programs are telling us, the standard lines about "doing what you did to lose the weight" clearly isn't working. And there is research out there showing it. There are subtle differences, and they are important. Both in the psychology and in the mechanics of the process.
