Before my husband and I met, I was in a bad place mentally. I had no friends or family nearby, so all of my free time was spent dieting, obsessing over calories, and working out for extended periods of time. I had no friends or family nearby, so all of my free time was spent dieting, obsessing over calories, and working out for extended periods of time. I was the thinnest I had ever been, but I wasn't happy. Since meeting my husband, I've been introduced to joy I never knew existed. I have two wonderful children now and family only an arm's length away. Unfortunately, most get-togethers involve excess in the food department, and if it isn't fried or cooked with bacon, it can't possibly be delicious. I'm trying to find a middle ground- is it possible that I don't have to be fat to be happy, and that I can become slender again without being obsessive?
