My Goals:
1. To eat for fuel. (and maybe sometimes for fun ;D, just not often)

2. To Lose 80 pounds in a healthy way. And maintain it. For once in my life.

3. To become a healthy, radiant person.

My Program:
Keep my calories low (1200-1600) as often as possible.

Exercise more.

Learn to love things that AREN'T FOOD.

emoticon emoticon emoticon Kudos to you for joining us here on the Raw Foodies Team. This will be one of the best decisions you have ever made. Sparkers come here and join this great team for a multitude of reasons. They may be curious about the health benefits of Raw Food and join to learn all about eating Raw. Many join for the weight loss. Many join the Team for a Detox. There are a great many people who do the Raw Food Diet as a Detox but then they realize how alive they feel and how the pounds melted away so effortlessly they decide to continue to eat this way. There are others who will join this Team for the health benefits of a Raw Food Diet. A diet based on raw food can reverse diabetes, arthritis (I personally have experienced this. I went off all of my arthritis meds after only a few weeks), heart disease, cancer (that is how I became involved with the Raw Food Diet when my sister was diagnosed with Lymphoma), eliminates migraines, the list goes on and on.

So join us and learn how to make the transition from SAD (Standard American Diet) to a healthy Raw Food Diet. You will be happy you did! emoticon

Absolutely, it definitely takes time. The hardest for me was the first month or so because I constantly had things in my mind and I wanted to throw up every time I felt full and just had to concede myself to the fact that even if I feel full, I don't have to resort to my old behaviors, especially when I'm full because I had a big salad. What I found was that the more healthy meals I had where I made myself full and forced myself to keep it down eventually made the link between purging and fullness start to die down. Occasionally it does still come up in my mind, but I just push it to the back and force myself to do something else to take my mind off it. I just don't let it be an option anymore.
Setbacks are really where you learn the most. If you can teach yourself something with every step back, you can take a HUGE leap forward (as cliche as that sounds, it's true in our cases). I do get off track here and there, but I don't let it bother me as much because I found when I'm eating healthy all the time and I have a cupcake or some chocolate or something, it's really not as devastating in my mind as it used to be.. maybe because it used to be a bag of chocolates or like five cupcakes. And treating myself every once in a while lets me know that things aren't forbidden so I don't feel as bad.
I'm glad you're doing well, keep it up girly, I'm proud of you!
