I have started and stopped...and restarted and stopped...and restarted again...and stopped. I think I'm finally tired of this song!

I am restarting...again...this time with a better idea of what I'm doing and what to expect; this time with a clearer plan for reaching my goals; this time, for the last time...because there is no more stopping/quitting.

I guess people really do become sick and tired of being sick and tired...I know I have! And I know I can do something about it. This time I mean business!

My Goals:
I actually have goals this time! Yeah...I started this the first time with NO real goals in mind...imagine that. No wonder I didn't get anywhere!

So...

My overall goal is to lose 90 lbs.

My mini-goal is to lose 5lbs/month for 18 months. (I know I am capable of losing more...but I decided to keep the goal manageable.)

Once I meet my ultimate goal in 18 months (or less), I plan to reward myself with a cruise! (I think maybe the cruise is the ultimate goal and the weight loss is the proverbial icing on the cake...I'm not sure yet!)

My other secret goal...the one I have been afraid to say out loud (or write)...

I want to train like a boxer. I don't actually want or plan to box...let some chick hit my pretty face?! Please! I just want to know it feels like to be in THAT kind of shape. Maybe I'll go for it...Maybe.


My Program:
I actually have a plan to meet my weight loss goals this time, too! No, I didn't have one before. Say it with me..."DUH!"

I joined the fitness center at work earlier this month. My son takes classes that go until 5:00 p.m. and I get off work at 4:00 p.m. What could I possibly do for that 1 hour everyday? You guessed it!

A) I plan to go to the fitness center at least 4 days a week. To start out, I will walk on the treadmill for 30 - 45 minutes. Once I become a little more comfortable, I plan to add some strength exercises. There is also a Zumba class on Saturday mornings that I plan to try out. There is also something called Holy Yoga that I plan to try out, as well.

B) I also plan to follow Weight Watchers. My health insurance pays for my participation, so I figured why not. I know I need to make some manageable and LASTING changes to my eating habits and I'm hoping that this will prove to be a valuable & useful tool.

    I, like you, have restarted my journey many times over and then this past year something clicked. All cylinders were working together.....drinking water, tracking my food, eating sensibly and in moderation (no dieting), joined the 5% weight loss challenge for accountability and walking. My 1/2 mile circle on which I live is flat and I walk it several times a day briskly.....avg 7 miles a day now. As a result.....I managed to drop 40+ lbs! It feels great to finally have some success on this journey.....good luck to you. emoticon emoticon It can be done.... emoticon
