The journey continues...

Over the past couple years, it's been a struggle - up and down, down and up. SparkPeople has helped me get to the lowest weight I'd been in more than a decade, and after struggling with some health issues/concerns, I'm trying regain that previous lower weight and continue living a healthy, active lifestyle. I want that to be the legacy I hand to our children some day.

Now, I'm back using SparkPeople and trying to get my mindset right - not just cutting back, but being healthy and active. I still would love to lose some weight, but after trying to lose my entire life, I need to not focus on the scale! What a challenge that is!

My Goals:
I'm working on determining my goal weight since I've never been below 165. I've never wanted to be a skinny girl, but am determined to run a 5K and eventually a half marathon in 2013 for my 30th birthday. I also want to build STRENGTH, and keep my focus on being strong and healthy.

My Program:
I've made huge changes in my diet and am trying to eat a fairly clean diet on a regular basis. Beginning in June 2011, focusing on weight training again with ChaLean Extreme program, with my own cardio (usually walking/running, Zumba, and/or Kickboxing.)

Personal Information:
My husband of 2 years and I live in Wisconsin with our German Shepherd mix, Xena. I work as a Marketing Coordinator; he as a sales rep.

Other Information:
I'm a planner. I plan our meals for the week so we can grocery shop only once a week (at least that's what we shoot for). It helps that I love to cook (but cursed that I also love to bake!)

That would be fun! I also have a story for you, small world- I think I know your husband because I used to work in a warehouse. So as soon as I can get the spark email working I will email you!

thanks for the spark goody, I fell off the wagon a bit and gained back 10 lbs, I'm excited to be back on track and well on my way to my goal :) my knottie girls always keep me motivated and inspired!

The running, Keisbe & Chemkatt, has been going COLD (and slow, but that's how I am!) LOL I hear you on the snowflakes, Chemkatt - we were out in it too. (As if our neighbors didn't think we were already crazy, they were outside smoking when we left and just laughed at us. Even though they themselves were outside for a much less beneficial reason!)

How are you doing with the colder weather? We actually got a bit of snow yesterday afternoon down here. Luckily it was as I was finishing up my long run! BRRR!!
