I'm retired and have been for 5 years. I was an RN. Since 2007 I've been reading and tracking my progress on Spark People. This has kept proper eating and proper exercise on the forefront of my brain. I'm blessed having found this site.

A victory garden was anywhere you could plant something to eat from seed. It helped you stay healthy during the war and the depression. Window boxes, container gardening, back yard or where ever you could plant things. Less of a strain on the farmers who lost all their help to the war etc.

You didn't tell me what the victory garden was. I remember my mom and others talking about them but can't remember what or how they were fixed. Do you grown them indoors or what? Please do tell. Hope

They moved the Spruce Goose to Oregeon when Walt Disney decided he no longer wanted it and they wanted to use the hangar it was in as a sound stage that was back in 1993. The Spruce Goose was dismantled and taken to Oregon where its reassembly was completed in 2001.
