Hi-I'm Kerry and I started With Spark People on the 15th of this month. I have a whooping 70 lbs. to lose. I am disabled in ways that has seriously damaged my back. I am unable to walk a half of a block. I have just started being able to walk across the street to my mail box and back without being in excruciating pain. So with me it's baby steps-:P I also have gotten up to 15 min. on my stationary bike. I have one of those med. size bouncy balls and I'll be going on line to figure that one out. My son is just really pumped that I've started getting motivated. He's all about, "You can do this Mom!" I'm 52 yrs, old and have alot to do. I'd like to find some friends that are heading out on the same kind of journey. God bless! :P

My Goals:
My goals right now are to lose 70 lbs. and tone up my body. I would like to go back to college and maybe get another AA and move on to getting a Bachelors. I really want to work on my spritual side of life. I am Chtistian and that comes before all else to me. But then, that is where I gotten the strength to get this far.

My Program:
For my program I have started really cutting calories. I'm eatting more fruits and vegetables, and eatting smaller amounts about 5 times a day. I way in once a week, and am slowly incorporating in the exercises that I can do.

    I'm sorry to hear that you had a stroke, and that your back is not good. That is great that you are here on Sparks and are going to try to work out. Even with a bad back and knee, I'm sure you can find exercises that you can do without hurting yourself. Just do what you can and don't give up.

    Hey Welcome and thanks for your input on my blog! I am sorry to hear about your back but excited to hear of your progress. BE CAREFUL if the ball is one you sit on! It requires a fair amount of balance and it would be easy to slide off. Have you ever heard of T Tapps? I saw it on a PBS station last night and it is touted as being something you can do in a chair, standing or on the floor. It is a type of exercise that involves all parts of your body and gets your heart pumping. They showed people in chairs doing the exercise as well as standing and it looked like a good work out. Sal

    Welcome Kerry to Spark People. I have been trying to do this for awhile but haven't gotten as much out of it as I should. This time I have to for health sake. Hit 50 and feel like everything has spun out of control. I am glad that I have access to a pool now because it is definitely much easier but on days that I can't exercise I am using my trampoline. It is just a little one but it makes walking in place a lot easier. Your 70 lbs is nothing compared to my 120 :( but this year I really have to quit the procrastinating and get it gone. Maybe we can be buddies!!
