I'm sorry to hear that you had a stroke, and that your back is not good. That is great that you are here on Sparks and are going to try to work out. Even with a bad back and knee, I'm sure you can find exercises that you can do without hurting yourself. Just do what you can and don't give up.

Hey Welcome and thanks for your input on my blog! I am sorry to hear about your back but excited to hear of your progress. BE CAREFUL if the ball is one you sit on! It requires a fair amount of balance and it would be easy to slide off. Have you ever heard of T Tapps? I saw it on a PBS station last night and it is touted as being something you can do in a chair, standing or on the floor. It is a type of exercise that involves all parts of your body and gets your heart pumping. They showed people in chairs doing the exercise as well as standing and it looked like a good work out. Welcome Kerry to Spark People. I have been trying to do this for awhile but haven't gotten as much out of it as I should. This time I have to for health sake. Hit 50 and feel like everything has spun out of control. I am glad that I have access to a pool now because it is definitely much easier but on days that I can't exercise I am using my trampoline. It is just a little one but it makes walking in place a lot easier. Your 70 lbs is nothing compared to my 120 :( but this year I really have to quit the procrastinating and get it gone.
