It seems like a curse in my family to be overweight, essentially just about everybody in my family is at least overweight, if not on the obese side, myself included.... but I am hoping to break the cycle! My mom and my oldest sister both had Gastric Bypass surgery, and that works for them and they are doing pretty good, but I don't want to have to do that. I know I can do this on my own... once I found the right motivation and the most beneficial tools, I am now on a roll. I have lost over 70 pounds since January 6, 2011 and I'm working hard at this!! My main goal is to be healthy and know how to eat so that when I have children I can teach them right from the start how to eat the correct way, in hopes that they will not have the same problems and issues with weight that I have had. It's my job as their mom to show them this and if they grow up eating the right way, they will never have to re-learn how to eat, like I am doing now, it will just come naturally to them. I never want weight to hold my children back from anything, like it's done to me. Also, I don't want to treat my body badly anymore because one day it will just make my life harder, with complications and such and I do not want to burden my children with taking care of me, I want to be able to care for myself as long as possible so they can live their lives to the fullest without having to worry about their sick mom. But first, I have to actually HAVE children. LOL. But before I can have children I have to repair the damage that I have already done, so when I am pregnant I can have a healthy pregnancy - SOOOO, that's why I am here.

My goals weight is about 135 - 140 lbs. I actually don't mind what the weight is - I just want to be able to wear a bikini again!!! Haven't since I was in my teens.

My Program:
I am currently working with a nutritionist who I see once a week. We go over my ups and downs for the past week and she makes suggestions on how I can change certain things. She gives me advice on meals, snacks and healthier options for things. She is AMAZING! The main thing I look at is how many sugars I am eating as well as bad carbs b/c they break down into sugar anyway, which is no good. I have essentially eliminated Milk out of my diet (I use Unsweetened Coconut or Almond Milk instead) as well as any type of bread. I also eat a TON of veggies and drink a gallon of water a DAY! She also has me doing a fitness competition program which is 6 days a week. It's hard work but I feel SO AMAZING every SINGLE day!
