Finding a Healthier me

I wasn't always obese. I was a tall lanky kid at one point. Then I turned 13 years old and something odd happened, my body started to change in ways I couldn't understand. I was diagnosed with PCOS in my early 20's and it all started to make sense. I hit 300 pounds at age 21 and cried for hours. At age 27 I hit my highest weight of 330 pounds. I was diagnosed with PCOS in my early 20's and it all started to make sense. I hit 300 pounds at age 21 and cried for hours. At age 27 I hit my highest weight of 330 pounds. But it wasn't till I saw the pictures of me next to my family at my mom's wedding that I really got it, I was losing control and emotionally eating. That was when I started learning everything I could about PCOS and started slowly incorporating healthier habits into my life. During college I lost weight due to never having enough time to eat but gained it back once I graduated. But over this last year I have been really working hard, eating low carb, working out, pushing myself beyond my limits and fighting emotional binge eating. It isn't easy and I struggle ALL the time but what matters is the healthy habits I am building today!! So far I have lost 24 pounds and I can't wait to see how much more I can lose with some more hard work!!

Quit smoking- Accomplished 10/5/2013

To get below 300 pounds- In Progress

Run a 5k

To get below 230 pounds in order to take horse riding lessons again- In Progress

To gain muscle definition- in progress

To get better control over my PCOS- in progress

To buy a bathing suit in June that I feel good in- DONE! Feel great in my high waisted two piece!

To get stronger at hikes and increase my mileage this summer-In progress

My Program:
I do yoga 1 day a week for general flexibility and anxiety.

I am eating low carb and high protein- no processed junk

I am doing HIIT- High Intensity Interval Training 3 days a week on the elliptical or treadmill.

I swim 2 days a week.

I alternate focusing on different areas with strength training 3 days a week.
