My Journey (again)

I am one of those people who has been chubby all of her life. About 10 years ago, after the birth of my son, I finally "figured out" the weight loss thing and managed to get to a size 0. Of course, I started back to my unhealthy patterns and here I am again, trying to shrink my size 16 at least into an 8 or 10. Last time I lost in unhealthy ways; this time my goal is to do it right - to make a long term lifestyle change through diet and excercise...and to drag my family along with me LOL

My Goals:
To make healthy lifestyle changes, resulting in permanant weight loss.

My Program:
My "program" is loosely based on the books: "The Sonoma Diet" and "Bob Greene's Total Body Makeover". I know this plan works if I stick to it (even with moderate "cheating") because I lost 25 pounds last year using it. My daily goal is to eat more whole foods, such as fresh veges, fruits, whole grains, and legumes. Also part of this "program" is to be more physically active, including basic strength training.

Personal Information:
My name is Jen. I am originally from Cleveland, but now live near Parkersburg, West Virginia.

Other Information:
I broke my leg on January 1 of this year, so my life has been quite topsy turvey this year. Sitting on the couch for 6 weeks, I managed to gain about 10 pounds and my leg muscles seemed to be non-existent by the time I was allowed to walk again.

I spend my time with a variety of hobbies, such as refunding, reading, surfing the web, traveling, and many more.

Hell and welcome to the 30 something team. I have also done the loose fast (gain back almost as fast diets) It is hard to stick to the slow and steady, when I want the results NOW!

Good Luck
Ken
