Hey there! I'm Lana, I'm 26 years old and I am here to try and get myself back in shape! I recently got married and when I first met my husband, I got too comfortable (well, actually both of us did) and we both gained lots of weight. After looking at my wedding pictures, I was disgusted and decided it was time to lose it. My husband agreed we would do it together. He has about 35 pounds to lose and I have 41. We went to the doctor together to be evaluated, the doctor put us on a prescription diet pill called phentermine. We have been watching what we eat and working out regularly for about 2 weeks now, and I have lost around 10 pounds, while my husband has lost close to 15 pounds (ugh, men. They get all the metabolism...). Anyways, I'm feeling really motivated and thought maybe this site can help me along my journey!
My initial goals are to lose 41 pounds total which will put me around 160 (that is the amount the doctor suggested) and see how I look/feel when I get there) and decide whether or not I would like to continue. To reach a healthy BMI for my height, the ideal weight is about 120
* Track my food and fitness each day.
* Get 7-8 hrs sleep a night.
* Eat at least 5 servings of fresh veggies/fruit a day.
* Exercise at least 30 mins 5x per week.
Starting weight: 208
I am cutting most of the junkfood eating, soda (except the occasional diet soda), and working out regularly in the gym and on my Wii. I use WiiFit, EA active, The Biggest Loser, and we go on the occasional walk. I make sure not to deprive myself to avoid burnout. I have HAVE to have chocolate, pizza, or a donut, I have it...in controlled portions. I don't do too well with tracking calories and exercise, and that is something I am working on! I have, however, learned to think about everything I stick in my mouth before I do it, instead of eating mindlessly.
I am married with 4 kids-two biological and two step kids, ages 10, 6, 4, and 3. We have two girls and two boys. I am a full-time student and stay at home mom, pursuing my Bachelor's degree in Health Care Studies. I have 4 cats: Cammie, Mater, Lightning McQueen, and Sally Mae, and a Black Lab puppy, Bella. I love to read and I love warm weather, which is not in my favor since I live in WV where the winters are brutal. I would love to live somewhere that it is warm year-round, but WV is where my heart is.

That would be great. We get married at the beginning of Feb. and are going on a Disney Cruise so I might not be able to afford to join anywhere until March but I would always be up for walking out at the mall...since it is indoors and there is no one there LOL.

LOL! Thanks Lana! Yeah, I know I was indeed B-I-G! I'm still not small but I'm certainly working on it. I'm down a total now of 110 lbs. I've got about 60 more to go before I meet my goal. From what I've been reading, you're making a transformation of your own and I'm really proud of you! You can do anything you put your mind to if you just believe you can. Hope to see you soon!
