**Update!**

January 1st, 2011::

I completed my weight loss and fitness journey, but fell off the wagon hard for eight months. I would join back for a week, eat well, feel good, then spiral back into the loving arms of the Big Mac all over again.

Last week, my husband and I decided that enough was enough. With pounds back on the both of us, we did a detox program and have returned to healthier eating habits and exercise. To compound the efforts, I've rejoined SparkPeople's Bootcamp program - which I came within ONE day of completing last year!

I'm very excited for 2011. Can't wait to see where it takes us!

----------------------------------------
----------------------

In January of 09, I stepped on the scale at one of my best friend's house and was appalled by what I saw. Even though I'd noticed myself expanding in the mirror and had wandered into a size 12 pant (which looks voluptuous and stunning on some women, but looked Grinch-like and unfeminine on me, a woman notorious for being flat-chested and bird-limbed), it took the numbers on that LED panel to let me know I'd taken a wrong turn somewhere.

It wasn't hard to guess. My husband and I were eating fast food two meals a day, then I'd make something indulgent for dinner at night, as I'd only recently discovered my love of cooking. Partner that with his desk job and my work from home job and you've got a nasty combination. Sadly, my waist-to-hip ratio is still paying the price!

Today, January 2010, my husband has lost 34 pounds, I've lost 26. I was almost to my end goal of 30 even.

Over the holiday, I gained 4 back, and am eager to see them off again - my philosophy refuses the idea of dieting over holidays. I'd rather work 4 pounds away than look back when I'm 80 on the things I didn't allow myself to enjoy!

That having been said, my -fitness- journey is only just beginning. I'm dipping my toe into Pilates and Yoga, and started visiting the gym about two months ago. After 6 years spent at the computer, my progress is very slow - sometimes laughably so. I wish I could properly convey to people what I mean by "6 years at the computer." I lived in an isolated spot with no friends in that city, had a car that didn't work, and a husband who was often deployed. I woke up, sat down at the computer, then eventually went to bed. Period. My muscles are in a very bad way, as are my lungs. This part of my goal has been so, so hard for me, harder than dieting, harder than weight loss, harder than giving up Big Macs (for the most part)!

My Goals:
Jan 30th 2010 - Slice off the Final 5. I will be finished losing weight after a 1 year journey.

Jan 1st 2011 - Undo the damage of my formerly sedentary lifestyle. Rebuild my muscles, repair lung function, take my now thin but very weak, unfirm body and make it tighter, toned and HEALTHY.

Ongoing - Eat more produce, consume less fat in general, and continue taking multivitamin!

My Program:
Right now, I'm throwing myself mind, body and soul into SparkPeople's Spark Your Body 2010 Bootcamp. That's it.

I'm focusing on ONE program at a time, and proving to myself that I can finish something I start!

Personal Information:
I live in Northeast Georgia with my husband and three kitties. We're Childfree by choice for life, non-religious, and both dedicated to getting back the healthy bodies of our youth!

I saw a post of yours in the Spark Georgia Team that said you lived in Woodstock.

I live in Holly Springs/Canton.
I just wanted to stop by and introduce myself.

I would love to get to know you.

Hope you don't mind if I add you as a friend.
