I hope to have better control 7/2014. I use Sparkpeople to record my journey, and to to find support along the way. I have a family that could improve their support style. I can get overwhelmed by the sheer number of pounds to lose until my goal weight, so I prefer to think of this as a daily journey to health. I stole a Sparkpeople quote that sums it up." When you break down goals into smaller steps, it isn't even that hard. All you have to do is say "yes" to the right things, one day at a time." Here is saying yes to health.

The Blue Print.
In 5 years, I want to be healthy, off medications and managing my chronic illness with nutrition and exercise. I want to be slender. I want to go to work each day with a healthy plan, and have habits that support that plan. I want to be a healthy empty nester, with a focus on projects, adventures. I want to garden my own food, shop locally. I want to hike with my husband, go camping with ease. I want to increase my knowledge of nutrition, health and diabetes. In 10 years, I want to be working, filling my days with meaningful projects at work, while looking forward to retirement. I want to work part time for Irene. When the weather is nice, I want to walk to work or bike to work, but leave the car in park. I want to look forward to getting up each day, following a healthy morning routine. I want to take my vitamins and supplements with lemon water, stretch and do yoga and start the day off with a healthy start. I want to pack my lunch, or snacks, and have a plan for the day. I want to take my walking shoes, as exercise is part of the plan. I want to carry my water bottle with me everywhere I go. Each day I want to focus on projects, wither that's the garden, the scrap book, organizing, cooking, canning, working. I want to be fit enough to take fitness classes, and have the extra energy to do so. I want to spend a little time each day on the spiritual aspect, whether that is daily mass, adoration or private prayer. I want to be tired at the end of the day, so that I can sleep 8 hours without medication. I want to live a GOD centered, balanced life that is full of health. I want to be productive. I want to have energy. I want to be a modern day hippy. I want to be independent, able to take care of my needs without illness interfering. While I will continue to work at DCFS, I want to work part-time on health related counseling.
To accomplish this picture of health, I need to weigh a healthy BMI. Extra weight contributes to the chronic disease issues. I need to focus on fruit and vegetables, lean protein. I am adapting a Paleo lifestyle. No grains. No dairy. No processed foods. If I eat healthy, with portion control and I exercise each day, the weight will right itself.

To reiterate, my three goals, which helps in THE BIG GOAL OF Weight loss by my next birthday:
1) track and stay within my calorie range. Stick with the Paleo food program. Pack my lunch/ snacks. Preplan Dinner.
2) 10,000 steps, minimum of 10 active fun cardio a day, like elliptical, water aerobics, and 10 minutes strength training. Walk or Bike to work.
3) Have a life; be accountable to Spark, Scrapbook, organize and clean, be an active mom.. do something besides sit on the couch and become one with the furniture.

My Goals:
I can get overwhelmed by the the amount on the scale. THE SMART version of my goals: I will lose 2 pound a week, by exercising 600 fitness minutes a week, and following my calorie range daily, with no nighttime eating.
I am giving up eating out, and will eat at home or pack my lunch except for days I have to eat out for work. when weather permits, My exercise is to walk outside 2x a day,and do tai chi wekly. I am following the Paleo lifestyle.


My Program:
it's holistic. I am adapting a Paleo lifestyle, as of 2-1-2014, work out 5 x a week. I try to be spiritually aware, and have attended therapy for eating issues. I have read Made to Crave. I use Spark People for accountability and consistency.

Personal Information:
I am a married catholic social worker parent of three teenagers. As my kids get more independent and are busy with their own lives, I can focus on health My husband has started a second career as a daycare director, and I co-own the business.

Happy Belated Birthday
In Sagittarius the Sun is idealistic and optimistic. Sagittarius is the sign that espouses such high principles as universal love and world peace.
