    Hello from a fellow Mainer. I will also be running the Mother's Day 5k this year. My first 5k, or well, first race ever for that matter.
    I just started a bunch of seeds, herbs, snap dragons, cypress vines, cukes, zuchinni, my navy blue king arthur is coming up nicely and MUCH bigger than last year. Also, my peonies are poking their noses out of the ground, how exciting. Last year, the deer who are supposed to hate them, bit all the tops off right before they flowered, then chewed the up and spit them on the ground right in front of the plant. Boy, was I mad!! Hopefully better luck this year. Happy gardening!

    Hi ... noticed your tagline in a post to the Virtual Racing Team:

    "Trying hard to avoid chocolates and sweets for at least 8 weeks...haven't had a successful week yet."

    May I gently suggest that you set yourself up for a goal that you CAN be successful at - and then build on that?

    For example, have you made it 8 minutes yet without eating chocolates or sweets? Build on that.

    If you've made it 8 hours without eating chocolates or sweets, you've built an even firmer foundation. Build on that.

    When you do eat chocolate or a sweet, does it take you 8 seconds to get your head back on straight? 8 minutes? 8 hours? 8 days? 8 months? 8 years?

    Start where you are. Chart the positive.

    Then .... "Get up and do it again. Amen. Do it again. Amen." ("The Pretender" by Jackson Browne)

    I've babystepped my way to lose 50 pounds and keep it off and am going on for more. I ate chocolate and sweets along the way; I "fasted" from thoughts of failure or success .... I just kept getting up and doing again what worked. Not nearly as easy to do as it sounds.

    Evening!
    Saw your post on the MC Daily Post...glad to see you're still on track to run the Mother's Day 5K.
    The weather is starting to warm, should be more pleasant to get outside and run. I did all three run days this past week, hoping to do the same this upcoming week.
    I have a Zoe cat too...she's a tiny tabby tho, quite different in presentation than your Zoe.
