8/21/09: New to SparkPeople. Excited about the tools, the community and the journey. Also a member of OA (Overeaters Anonymous) and JC (Jenny Craig). Lost 26 lbs, 14 left to go. UPDATE 10/3/09: Lost 35.4 lbs...5 more to go!
UPDATE 10/6/09: I decided to rename my sparkpage from "kelly's sparkpage" to the quote above. I LOVE that quote...I first heard it at an OA meeting...and I think about it often. For me, the "miracle" is not just weight loss and a weight goal...it's much, much bigger. It's about life. I have been blessed with many miracles and blessings throughout my journey, but I am seeing now that it just keeps getting better and better...life, that is. Sure, there are life's "challenges", but it's all in our attitude and how we choose to deal with those challenges. I choose to be positive and seek guidance from within and from my Higher Power.

UPDATE 9/5/10: OK, so I have not been on the SP site much...mostly just to log my food and my still not consistent exercise. My weight is at 153. I gained back about 17 of the lbs. I had lost...I believe it is mostly because work stress has increased...which means I am more tired and do not have energy to consistently work ouit...which causes me to have less energy and be more tired. A vicious cycle.
By the grace of God, I am back on the road to recovery and weight loss. I am still a member of OA and am currently working step 11. I realized a few weeks ago, thru prayer and meditation, that I was not exercising, gaining weight, getting scared...which led me to fall into bad habits of eating after dinner, eating more snacks, weighing myself daily, and not "turning it over" to God for guidance and serenity around food and weight. I tried to run the show! Once I had this realization and turned it over to God, and shared at my OA meeting...things again changed for the better. I am again eating healthy, losing weight and beginning again with exercise. I feel blessed and I am very grateful!
Goal weight of 140 (total loss would be 40.4 lbs.)
Hoping once I get healthier and to my goal weight my doctor will allow me to go OFF of blood pressure and cholesterol medications....well, at least the high blood pressure meds.
A healthy, balanced life...one NOT obsessing about food, weight, the scale or body image.

I am a member of OA and have chosen a food plan called 3-0-1. It consists of 3 healthy, moderate meals, 0 snacks, taking the program 1 day at a time. I used to constantly eat...breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, snack, more snacks....so this is a huge change for me. I also am a member of Jenny Craig, so I use their foods as well, but not exclusively.
I have cut out desserts. ICE CREAM is my absolute favorite. I "treat myself" to ice cream once a month, if at all. Started this in July....didn't have any in August...don't know yet for September. So far, so good.
As for exercise, that's my biggest struggle...being consistent with exercise. I am shooting for 5 days a week, 30 minutes a day.
