Hi, My name is Amanda I'm 24yrs , 5'3" and started SP a few weeks ago at 168lbs trying to lose atleast 45lbs with an ultimate goal of getting down to 110. So far, I have lost 4lbs and am pretty satisfied with my progress. I am doing this for a life change..not quick results.
I wasn't always over weight. Actually quite the opposite. I spent my younger days as a cross country runner and weighed a whopping 101-105 back then. Even as a child I really never had weight issues. I ate what I want...which wasnt too much..I was a picky eater. But in HS and college I just "ran off" what I ate. I started gaining weight in college and was about 130 when I married my hubby in 2005. And we got comfortable and gained together even more.
I was a member in 2006 (you can see my old page in my friends) I was 20 lbs lighter trying to lose 30 lbs. I didn't make my goal due to stress from hubby being deployed, staying busy with school and over working myself with two demanding jobs. I didn't make time for myself even though I could have.
Now, for the reason I am motivated this time around. My husband and I have been together for over 6yrs and I have went from a size 0-2 to a size 12-14 in the time I have met him. which I have to say he has been wonderful and nothing but sweet in the years of me gaining. Since we have been married in 2005 we have been trying for a baby (w/ of course the exception of him being deployed11 months in 2006. And finally last September we went to an RE for infertility work-ups...he was totally good to go...while I was diagnosed with mild hyperthyroidism and had some elevated levels suggesting PCOS.Making sense of my whacky cycles. But since I was ovulating and my ovaries looked fine they didnt treat my PCOS symptoms and just monitored my Hyperthyroidism. Which I am happy to say my levels have been in the normal rangle (low but still normal) in my last two check ups.Woo hoo...I also did a cycle of clomid which didn't result in pg.
Well moving to where we are now I started seeing another RE last month and He is treating for my PCOS and put my on Metformin. Reading up on everything I realized that alot of my symptoms could be controlled naturally by watching the carbs I ate and exercising regularly. I am lucky to have very few symptoms (weight gain, and some breakouts) I read losing just 10% of your body weight when you have PCOS can have the same benefits of taking Metformin. I was/still am pretty devastated to know I am aiding in my Infertility. Although I am taking the Met. to help I am hoping this will be a temporary thing.
Over these years TTC I have wanted a baby so bad, I neglected myself when it was most important to take the best care to stay healthy. I let monthly disappointments rule my eating habits and keep me from exercising. In my 2ww I would fear working myself out too much in hopes that was my month. When all that time I needed to be doing something proactive for myself.
So, here I am. Motivated and ready to get in shape and TTC in a healthier way. We still want a child and will be starting treatments this cycle but I am in a better place. I have taken PNs for years and am now cleaning up my eating habits and exercise plans. My overall goal is to get down to 110. But I will be taking it one month at a time. Celebrating each month as a healthier me knowing that I am doing this in turn for a healthier pregnancy and baby. So if I only can do it another month and lose 10 lbs I will be just as happy as if I can get down 40lbs in the next 5 months. Changing my habits to have a healthy lifestyle I can follow through pregnancy and after when I can proceed to my ultimate goal of 110. It is going to be a long road but I think I am finally ready to take contol of my life and do something for me.

I want to lose the weight to be in my best shape when I do get pregnant.

My Program:
I have just started so I have nothing concrete. On second wk, so just trying to track carbs and be conscious of what Im eating. I also am trying to walk more often to get in shape to run.(Sept)

October:

Yoga on rest day
Strength training 3xwk
tracking calories
8 h2o a day





Personal Information:
I am 24 and happily married. We just got stationed back to our home town and happy to back around family. We are finally starting to settle in and I feel this is an opportunity to change my life around. So Im going for it.
