so, nearing the end of March, I am really enjoying planning and eating good healthy meals. I still have trouble meeting my calorie goals, I don't eat enough, so sometimes I end up eating in the evening, just to fill out my limits.
I have found some light weights to do to increase the strength in my arms, so that it is easier to push my wheelchair around, and I am getting cardio workouts using the chair at work.
So far I am happy with my results and hope I can keep it up.
It's now March of 2011, I am starting again at 200 pounds, but I think I may have set a more realistic goal of 130. I will still have an obese BMI, but I think that wait will be more manageable mentally.Since my last participation I have now been confined to a wheelchair part time, and my arthritis and fibro have gotten much worse.
I am not telling my family that I am doing this again, no expectations, just one day at a time.
So, due to family pressures and concerns, I have decided not to go thru with the weight loss surgery.
I kind of got off track for several months there, when I went back to work, but am back in the right frame of mind, and ready to try again.
Staples started a new program at work and have given us a trainer/dietician to work with and monitor us for eight weeks. According to her scale I have not lost any weight since the beginning and am starting from scratch again. So... here we go again.....
ONE MONTH...This has now become less about weight loss surgery, and more about feeling good and losing weight and being fit.
I have been here a month (on 11th) and am feeling so good. My daughter last night said my skin looked so nice now, (probably all the water) and I was doing so well. I am so intent on getting exercise and eating right that the surgery has left my mind as a goal.
in preparation for gastric sleeve surgery, I want to start a new lifestyle of eating and activity. I have been completely sedantary, so I am starting off at 10 min activity per day. I want to get into that habit first before setting any goal too high. Would love help and encouragement...
My goal is to be smaller than I have ever been, but healthy and fit. As I head into my mid-late 50's, I know being strong and healthy is even more important. Also, I would like to wear my wedding dress to my 25th anniversary, Nov 1/11. (At my goal weight, I would have to take the dress in!)
My program is to start very slow and make each stage a habit before moving on. I set my activity goal at 10 mins per day to start, and so far I am managing at least half of that every day.
ONE MONTH... I am exceeding my 10 minute goal every day now and feel really good.
I live in Dartmouth NS, and have been on disability since last September. Going back to work at the end of August and need to be really on track and focused about my new lifesyle.
