It's time....

...to get healthy! Just found out my father has Type 2 diabetes, and as we are "genetic doubles", I need to stop waffling and get in gear. I have a healthy diet already and sound nutritional principles, I just eat too much of that good stuff and am not active enough.

My Goals:
I want to slowly but surely get back to fitness. I want to keep up with my kids and husband right now, and be the Cool Grandma years from now.

My Program:
We've modified our eating to include smaller portions and more fruits and veggies. I'm drinking more water and encouraging everyone else to do this too. I try to do cardio (walking) at least six days a week, 30 minutes or more. I also am doing a beginning strength training program which I try to do five days a week.

Personal Information:
I am a native Oregonian, living right now in NSW, Australia. We're here for at least two more years while our two kids finish high school.
I love reading, travelling, history....and would love at some point to become involved in "living history" and historical clothing construction.

It crushes me when I sense someone is fibbing to me. I am super sensitive and it is a curse that I have to live with.

Blogging about this issue every day will glean you more benefit than you can imagine.

Remember: The body utilizes only USABLE sources of fuel. Potatoe chips as an example is like putting mud in the gas tank. Calories count of course but type of food and how it is prepared is #1.

Veggies
Fruits
Grains
Water

Then the crap in moderation on occasion in small amounts if you can handle it. I can't.
