Welcome I'm pleased you have chosen to share your journey with us all. If you haven't already you may want to look at joining some of the teams that may be interesting to you. Hey Theresa - welcome.

Spark is a great site full of useful information, motivational tools, effective exercise programs, and really wonderful, supportive people. Here are a few of my favorite ways to stay motivated and moving forward with my health goals:

1) Find an active, supportive SparkTeam. It's the best ways to make friends here and really get support when you need it.

2) Join a Spark Challenge. I love bootcamp challenges, though if you're new to exercise you might want to start with the 10 Minute Daily Exercise Challenge. Believe it or not, 10 minutes adds up!

3) Start a Spark Streak. It's fun to see how many days in a row I can eat my veggies, or drink my water, or get 7 hours of sleep a night. The more consistent I am, the healthier I feel - and focusing on daily behaviors I can control is much better for me than focusing solely on the scale, which I cannot completely control!!

4) Join the 100 Day R.E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N. Challenge. This challenge is self-guided and was started by members; it isn't an "official" challenge. Each letter in the word "revolution" forms the basis for a 10-day phase. Each day you complete one simple activity that makes you think about where you are, where you're going, how you feel about your life, etc. I just finished it today and plan to start it again tomorrow!

5) One off-site resource has helped me so much I have to mention it here. Inside Out Weight Loss is a free podcast on iTunes. The old episodes form the heart of the program and are available (free) at personallifemedia.com. This podcast deals with WHY we do what we do and how to change the way we think about ourselves and being healthy so it becomes something we LOVE doing instead of something we force ourselves to do. The podcast isn't a diet plan so it works with any eating plan - or on its own.

I used to weigh 220 pounds, so I know what it's like to have a lot to lose. You can do it - one day, one choice at a time. Best of luck to you!

Welcome to the OKC Team, glad you have considered us as part of your weight loss journey.

May I make a few suggestions, in a word, get involved. That one thing will make the difference as people who are actively involved with others have a far greater chance of succeeding.

We look forward to seeing you on our team page, check out our forums, the huddle and may this be a two way street, where we both help each other.

God bless and keep soaring,
Bob emoticon
