Hi! My name is Linda, Im a 23 year old housewife from California. Back in 2005 when I first met my Hubby I was 150lbs, the lowest I've EVER weighed in my life. Growing up I always knew I was somewhat bigger then the other kids but it didn't really HIT me until 9th grade. Throughout HS I tried just about every diet and exercise routine out there, mostly to no avail. It wasnt until 2005 that I lost a majority of weight when I worked at the local Target on the overnight shift. I think it was my schedule getting changed and doing the heavy lifting that did it. As soon as that job was over though so was my weight loss. Around that time my Hubby and I got engaged and started planning out future together. In 2007 I had more or less gained all the weight back that I had lost and then some. I feel I look nice in my wedding pictures but I will NEVER forgive myself for not doing everything I could to look my best physically that day. Last year 2008 was a good but also hectic and stressful year for myself, I had a lot going on and did not look out for myself as much as I probably should have. Around the begining of this year 2009 I stepped on the scale and was horrified at the number 235lbs! My highest weight back in HS was 170lbs! I was devasted and completely disgusted with myself. So made a vow to myself that 2009 was going to be MY YEAR both physically and emotionally. I joined this site, started running, started a program on the Wii Fit and now Wii EA Sports Active, COMPLETELY revamped my kitchen and cooking ways, Hubby also bought a Bowflex that I use. I have to say that it really is about LIFE changes. You go on a diet, lose the weight then stop the diet and go back to your old ways. Surprise surprise the weight comes back! You start dieting again and its an endless cycle. However if you make LIFE changes they are simply that, changes for LIFE! There is no going back, they are changes for now and the future to a better you. And so far it has been working for me, I only hope I can keep it up and make my Hubby, family, friends and most importantly myself proud :D

My Goals:
I want to get back down to 150lbs, my lowest weight ever. Then go from there to see if I want to lose more or not. I also want to focus on strength training especially in my upper body where it is seriously lacking lol.

My Program:
I got the Wii EA Sports Active game about 2 weeks ago and started the 30 Day Challenge on it. I do work outs on that for 2 days alternating with 1 day of rest. My Hubby also got a Bowflex that I am using for my strength training. Also go for runs/walks when Im in the mood and play on the Wii Fit.

I read your comment on another page and just wanted to tell you that you are SO smart to realize while you're young that diets do not work and that you need to embrace a healthy lifestyle- which does not mean depriving yourself! emoticon
It took me about 20 years to figure that out and in the meantime I dieted myself almost to 200 pounds! emoticon
Good job, Sparky!

Thank you for the sweet comment on my blog! I went to the emergency room a few weeks ago and the lady was a real moron. I'm unemployed, no money, and no health insurance so there isn't much drs can do for me. I went to a free clinic and got this free health insurance for a yr through a program in my county. To be seen by one of their drs I have to wait until August because they're all booked up!!! The free health insurance is only good for a few places which really sucks.

I'm so very glad that you've joined the Emotional Eaters Team. The team is a place where you can vent. And where you will receive some awesome support. Of course, I am biased ... it's one of my favorite teams at SparkPeople! I hope you find exactly what you are looking for! Welcome to the team!

Be sure to ask questions if you have them ... someone will likely have the answer. Use the tools SparkPeople provides. They are invaluable. If you feel an emotional eating attack coming on, come to the boards first. Write about it instead of pushing the feelings away with food. We're here for you!

Eat well, journey well,
