ready to lose

After a long break from Spark, I decided to come back! I miss hearing from all my inspirational spark buddies!

I started Weight Watchers in August (for the millionth time) and lost 25 lbs by December! Unfortunately the holidays as well as school stress, I gained some of it back. But I'm back on track and almost at the 25lb lost mark again!

August 2010: 218
April 2011: 197 :)

I am following the weight watchers program for my diet, because it works for me! But I'm also tracking my food on Sparkpeople so I can keep track of protein and sodium!

Personal Information:
Living in Shreveport, LA for the time being while attend grad school in Speech Language Pathology!

I LOVE cooking, love bentos, reading, and I am actually starting to love exercising!

Ohhh sister.. if you thought Food Inc was good.. you need to read The End of Overeating by David Kessler, Real Food What We Eat and Why by Nina Planck and The Omnivores Delimma by Michael Pollan.. you heard from Michael Pollan in Food Inc... I just ordered Genetically Modified Foods from Netflix.. and I enjoyed the documentary called King Corn as well. It has really opened my eyes.. although it's hard to make the changes overnight.. I am shopping locally when I can and buying organic when I can..

I've practically eliminated processed foods but have not been as successful at doing "grass finished" beef.. I tried some.. and it just tasted "off".. however, the organic non corn fed chicken and WOW.. the taste was amazing.. you know how people say everything tastes like chicken?? well, if you've ever had non-corn fed chicken - you wouldn't say that cuz it tastes like REAL chicken.. but again, it's expensive.. and I haven't made that change 100% yet.

I've not seen Killer At Large but will most definitely check it out!
