Hello fellow slimmers. "I'm hoping that public humiliation will help me lose the pounds before my doctor decides to weigh me again!" That was what I wrote when I joined SparkPeople. My wish came true and I reached my goal weight in time for my next doctor's appointment. I don't know who was more pleased....her or me! Now I am Sparking for life.....BECAUSE IT WORKS!!!
UPDATE: I lost 14kg and reached my goal weight of 60kg in June 2009. In January 2010, I was voted a "SparkPeople Motivator". I am thrilled to be in such good company.
VIRTUAL WALKS: I love walking and I track it by doing virtual walks plus a little jogging and a little stationary cycling.
Around the Irish coastline clockwise from Dublin: commenced September 23rd 2012. Completed 3402
miles by February 7th 2015. My virtual walk around Ireland is now complete!!
Around the British coastline anti-clockwise from the Thames Woolwich Barrier: in progress since October 11th, 2009. Completed 5552 miles by Sep 22nd, 2012. Have reached Greenwich, London, England. VIRTUAL WALK IS NOW COMPLETE!!!!!
Thames Path from the source to the sea : completed 184 miles from September 4th to October 10th, 2009. Averaged 5.1 miles per day.
Around the Isle of Wight: completed 67 miles from August 23rd to September 3rd, 2009. Averaged 5.6 miles per day.
Land's End to John O'Groats: completed 1111 miles from January 1st to August 22nd, 2009. Averaged 4.7 miles per day.

I have really got the exercise bug and look forward to each day as an opportunity to get fit.
The program that works for me includes deep breathing, stretching, doing the "exercise of the day", Pilates, walking, jogging, gardening, tracking my food carefully and drinking 8 glasses of water daily.
