The time has come', the Walrus said,' To talk of many things:
Of shoes—and ships—and sealing-wax—
Of cabbages—and kings—'... or in my case, of losing weight - of clearing the junk out of my house & my life- returning to studying the OU degree I started several years ago - and being more positive! I know what I SHOULD be doing, but on my own it's so hard to get started.
* find a new job (Now put on hold as having to care for mum full time)
*buy myself some nice boots this winter-(usually my calves are too big for boots)
23 Aug 2011 Hooray! found some 3/4 boots in TK Maxx- maroon leather too, and really cheap!
*Make some new friends (ongoing!)
*stay under 182lbs! (This has been my sticking point in the past)
*stay under 175lbs.
(still ok, Aug2012)
* Lose 10lbs by 1st October 2012 (about 1lb:wk)
* be healthy and happy and stress free! (soon, please!!) (anti depressants helping with this! :) )
*de-clutter my house, and my mother's house (a bit at a time- 30 years worth of junk takes some shifting!) ...ongoing!
*make an effort to walk everywhere, take the stairs instead of the lift, log my steps- do at least 10.000 a day.
*gardening- and make sure I use the watering can instead of the hose pipe - better for the Abs & arms!
* Dance whenever I can (even when my dancer son is embarrassed! Who does he think he inherited it from?!)
I'm from Somerset, UK, recently separated after almost 34 yrs of marriage.
I have 3 sons, 2 at Uni - doing Music Technology, and Dance respectively -one at college doing an Art course, and an 89yr old mother who drives me crazy!
I'm half way through an Open University degree course in English Literature and Language- hard work but well worth the effort.
I like art & crafts, music (even Techno!), poetry, theatre, gardening and photography.
I have two cats- a fat tabby female and a skinny ginger male- both rescue cats.

So glad you found me even with the name change. I think that we change a lot while we are here on sparkpeople. Sometimes the name we started with just isn't us anymore. I know exactly what you mean when you said you are thinking of a change too.
Have a wonderful week ahead with some 'me' time for you.

Hope the Olympics is fun over there across the pond. One of my local Brit friends sent me this excellent video link. Have fun listening to it! And congratulations on your new status as overweight rather than obese...I am still in the Hugely Terribly Obese section....lol.

oh right... I'm going straight to Youtube to watch TISWAS. That must have been such fun. My 2 eldest sons did some work as TV extras (or 'supporting artists' haha!) when they were younger, and always had a whale of a time as well as being paid! (mind you, once I'd paid for train fares etc I was usually out of pocket) All good experience though.
Pub names: Yes- Elephant and Castle is an old English pub name, though not so much these days, when pubs seem to be given silly names like the Duck & Ferret or the Rat & Parrot! Our town used to have an awful lot of pubs, but now mostly closed down & converted to cafes or shops. We had the Myrtle Tree, The Black Horse, the Four Alls ( with a sign showing a soldier, a king, a clergyman and judge... I fight for all, I govern all, I pray for all and I plead for all), the Light Bob ( the nickname of the Somerset Light Infantry) the Ring Of Bells, Crown & Sceptre (but recently has lost it's 'R', so no it's the much more picturesque 'Crow' and Sceptre) the King's Arms, The Princess Royal, The Waggon & Horses, The Gardener's Arms...the Cherry Grove, The Plough, the Oak and Acorn...Stonegallows ... all very rural!
My son Hugo is planning a road trip with his Canadian friend Kat, hopefully next year, so I'll get him to look out for the Rose & Crown!
