Fitness to Feel Good

I am a 40 year old American expat living in Bangkok for the last 4 years.

Ex- military brat mostly from California, Hawaii and Florida, but also lived in DC and Illinois.

Married 17 years, 1 child 16 years old.
Social worker.

Love food, wine and cooking. Looking to be healthier since I am not getting any younger!!

Spiritual, not religious, and pretty liberal and open minded.

My Goals:
I think it is time to start getting in shape. I just moved to a new condo with a great fitness center and pool. I just need some accontabilty and motivation to get serious about working out again.

I do really well when I get in the gym, it's just getting off my ass and going that I have problems with. I go in spurts where I work out 5-6 days a week for a few weeks or a month, and then I don't do anything again for months! It's a bad habit.

My Program:
My plan is to start working out at least 3 days a week, every week. 30 minutes cardio (bike and pool), 30 minutes strength training (free weights and machines).

I would also like o find a yoga class at least 1 time a week.

Other Information:
I love yoga, and I especially like the machines and free weights, I like feeling the burn!!
Don't like diets, I love eating fresh veggies and fruit. Love to cook and experiment with food. My daughter is a vegetarian so I experiment allot with tofu.

Hey fellow swimmers, have you seen that we have a September challenge going? Come join the thread. Lets loose some pounds, get healthy and have fun doing it! If you’ve fallen off the wagon lately, now is the perfect time to get back on.
