A Journey to a Healthier Me
Update January 2012 - This is a New Year and a fresh start for me. The past year was one of ups and downs; with 3 teenagers my life is hectic to say the least. This year I will work get fit and healthy with the help of the UMass Weight Center and my family. We are all going to learn to ski this year if the weather ever cooperates. This will add to my cardio options. I need to keep things balanced; focusing on my health goals but also being in the real world with my family. ...
Update January 2012 - This is a New Year and a fresh start for me. The past year was one of ups and downs; with 3 teenagers my life is hectic to say the least. This year I will work get fit and healthy with the help of the UMass Weight Center and my family. We are all going to learn to ski this year if the weather ever cooperates. This will add to my cardio options. I need to keep things balanced; focusing on my health goals but also being in the real world with my family. The only way to do this is to include them in my goals. Fortunately this is now possible. Taking my daughter to the gym and grocery store with me will give us time together and she will keep me focused. Walking the dog with my youngest son will also encourage both of us to get some cardio in. My oldest will graduate HS and head to college this year. He enjoys hiking in the mountains so this spring and summer I will use that as an opportunity for time with him. Golf and Skiing with DH will keep us close and healthy. Here's to 2012!

My Program:
Follow Spark guidelines for calorie/fat/protein intake; For winter use Wii Fit Plus; Wii Active and Active more workouts; Cardio and strength training DVD's Skiing; and treadmill or elliptical at work or gym. In better weather add outdoor activities.
