New Year - New Me!
Hi everyone! I'm Linda. I'm 50 yrs old, the mother of 4 children ranging in age from 35 to 13 and 4 grandchildren. I have struggled with my weight for the last 20 yrs and have been from the extremes of severely underweight to morbidly obese, going from one extreme to the other several times. It's time to make the right changes, that are do-able for a lifetime, and will work to reach and stay at a healthy weight. I am an online student of CareerStep, training to be a medical ...
I am an online student of CareerStep, training to be a medical transcriptionist. So if I'm not chasing after the 2 grandsons that live with me, I'm typing my way into a new career. I had RNY in 2000 and had to have 2 revisions to correct problems. I lost 198 lbs but since the last revision which restored a portion of the intestine by-passed I have gained 140 lbs over the last 6 yrs. I still have the disadvantages of the by-pass such as not being able to eat pasta, rice or bread and sugar intolerance. Even with the weight gain and being near death in 2002, which prompted the last revision, I don't regret the choice and would make the same today, But today I still struggle with weight gain partially due to a birth defect which prevents lower body mobility. I'm here to find encouragement, motivation, and give the same in return. Any suggestions, advice, or the needed kick in the pants will always be welcomed and appreciated. Looking forward to getting to know y'all :) If there are any gastric by-pass folks out there struggling with regained weight I'd enjoy hearing from you! Going to take this weight loss journey one day at a time, one change at a time.
