You have entered the monomama zone! I'm the mom of 4, and am 25. My husband and I live in Minnesota. I am entering Spark to help me be accountable and motivated to exercise, which presents itself difficult with children and even more so in the cold MN winters!
A little more about me: I attend Shepherd's Fold Baptist Church (www.shepherdsfoldbc.org) and enjoy the hearty preaching there. Lately, i've been taking this for my motivation for life: Our reality will determine our practice. I ask myself: where is my reality? Do I, evidenced by my attitudes and actions, really believe Heaven and Hell are real? If I do, I will be trying to reach as many people as I can with the Gospel. And is Eternity real to me? If so, I will be investing in eternity; doing things that please the eternal, almighty God! Talk about a challenge! So, to conclude this section, I'm obviously not perfect. Perfect people don't exist. But I strive to please God in my actions and attitudes, in spite of my circumstances. He is my ultimate "boss", as I put it to my children.
Salvation is so wonderful! My neighbour Melissa asked Jesus to save her after we've been witnessing to her for several months! I'm so glad that God is faithful, and where she admittedly didn't understand all that we had told her, God used peoples' testimonies and our pastor's sermon to convict and make her understand her need for salvation by grace, through faith, without any works. God is so good!
My current quote:
"Self control is a matter of sufficient motivation." - Michael Pearl
Oh, and about the "Fit Before Baby" team, yes, i am pregnant. If you know any of my family in MN, don't tell them though, because i'm waiting to tell people who can guess until they ask. Mean? Maybe. Fun? Definately! Over half way there!
Update on my pregnancy: on Friday, i had my gestational diabetes test, and it came back positive for the first time! i was very upset - didn't seem fair, because i've been watching what i eat and exercising! today (monday), i had a secondary test - one that lasts 3 hours and 4 pricks! i had to fast overnight, and couldn't even drink water beyond a few sips during the test. by the time i got home (i had taken our car to get fixed and walked 20 minutes each way to and from the clinic), once i took one bite of food, by whole body started shaking uncontrollably! i ate about 2 cups of cooked rice with milk and felt much better, but still exhausted. so, i took a nap, and i'm still tired. i'm so glad for food! regular, small meals were definately something i took for granted! Result of the test: No diabetes! YAY!
losing my 'baby fat' and the fat i gained between pregnancies!
Lose fat as much as possible!

A Mother's Love
There are times when only a mother's love
Can understand our tears,
Can soothe our disappoints
And calm all of our fears.
There are times when only a mother's love
Can share the joy we feel
When something we've dreamed about
Quite suddenly is real.
There are times when only a mother's faith
Can help us on life's way
And inspire in us the confidence
We need from day to day.
For a mother's heart and a mother's faith
And a mother's steadfast love
Were fashioned by the angels
And sent from God above.

From the garden of Gethsemane,
where Jesus knelt to pray;
To the betrayal done by Judas,
on that grim and fatal day.
From the mighty hands of Pilate,
who preferred to let Him be.
To the noble priests and leaders
who refused to set Him free.
From the crown of thorns upon His head
and lash marks from a strap;
To the weight of such a heavy cross,
strapped there upon His back.
From the thief who hung beside Him
Crying, "Lord, remember me"
To the gentle words of Jesus;
"Today, you'll be with me."
From the darkness of the noon time
as He died upon the cross;
To the earth that shook and trembled
in response to such a loss.
From the cheering cries of soldiers
as they took His body down;
To the caring hands of Joseph,
A follower new in town.
From the tomb where He was laid to rest
In linen cloth of white;
To the guards who had to stand close by,
throughout both day and night.
From the stone that blocked the entrance
as it gently rolled away;
To the miracle that happened
on that third and final day.
From the baffled look of soldiers
as they peered into the room;
To the startled face of Mary
when she found an empty tomb.
From the frightened look of Mary
as she swiftly left that place;
To the light that flowed from Jesus
when she saw Him face to face.
From the doubt of His disciples
when she spoke of resurrection;
To the fear upon their faces
As He walked in their direction.
From the written word of scripture
that was told in prophecy;
To the eleven who had gathered
on a hill in Galilee.
From the words that had been spoken
before He went away;
To His ascension into heaven
where He lives this very day.
From the bible on the mantel
Tis the words you need to heed;
To find wisdom in its pages
and a light to sow a seed.
From the death and resurrection
of the One we hold so dear;
To the coming of His Spirit,
now that Easter time is here.
From the colored eggs and candy
and an orchid trimmed in blue;
To the truth found there in scripture,
Christ Jesus died for you.

God’s Valentine Gift
God’s Valentine gift of love to us
Was not a bunch of flowers;
It wasn’t candy, or a book
To while away the hours.
His gift was to become a man,
So He could freely give
His sacrificial love for us,
So you and I could live.
He gave us sweet salvation, and
Instruction, good and true--
To love our friends and enemies
And love our Savior, too.
So as we give our Valentines,
Let’s thank our Lord and King;
The reason we have love to give
Is that He gave everything.

Find everyday joy
in the simple things in life...
The smell of hot coffee and pancakes in the morning,
Fireflies flickering in the clear night air,
The cool morning fog as the sun comes up
and warms the day.
The colors of a beautiful and peaceful sunset,
A bee buzzing in a patch of spring flowers,
The kindness in the smile of a stranger.
The warm feeling of a hug
from someone who loves you,
The quiet sound of the ocean on the shore,
The twinkling of the stars in the sky...
A thought from someone who calls you friend.
