MONOMAMA ZONE!!! ;-)
Hi! You have entered the monomama zone! I'm the mom of 4, and am 25. My husband and I live in Minnesota. I am entering Spark to help me be accountable and motivated to exercise, which presents itself difficult with children and even more so in the cold MN winters! A little more about me: I attend Shepherd's Fold Baptist Church (www.shepherdsfoldbc.org) and enjoy the hearty preaching there. Lately, i've been taking this for my motivation for life: Our reality will determine our practice. I ask myself: where is my reality? Do I, evidenced by my attitudes and actions, really believe Heaven and Hell are real? If I do, I will be trying to reach as many people as I can with the Gospel. And is Eternity real to me? If so, I will be investing in eternity; doing things that please the eternal, almighty God! Talk about a challenge! So, to conclude this section, I'm obviously not perfect. Perfect people don't exist. But I strive to please God in my actions and attitudes, in spite of my circumstances. He is my ultimate "boss", as I put it to my children. Salvation is so wonderful! My neighbour Melissa asked Jesus to save her after we've been witnessing to her for several months! I'm so glad that God is faithful, and where she admittedly didn't understand all that we had told her, God used peoples' testimonies and our pastor's sermon to convict and make her understand her need for salvation by grace, through faith, without any works. God is so good! My current quote: "Self control is a matter of sufficient motivation." - Michael Pearl Oh, and about the "Fit Before Baby" team, yes, i am pregnant. If you know any of my family in MN, don't tell them though, because i'm waiting to tell people who can guess until they ask. Mean? Maybe. Fun? Definately! Over half way there! Update on my pregnancy: on Friday, i had my gestational diabetes test, and it came back positive for the first time! i was very upset - didn't seem fair, because i've been watching what i eat and exercising! today (monday), i had a secondary test - one that lasts 3 hours and 4 pricks! i had to fast overnight, and couldn't even drink water beyond a few sips during the test. by the time i got home (i had taken our car to get fixed and walked 20 minutes each way to and from the clinic), once i took one bite of food, by whole body started shaking uncontrollably! i ate about 2 cups of cooked rice with milk and felt much better, but still exhausted. so, i took a nap, and i'm still tired. i'm so glad for food! regular, small meals were definately something i took for granted! Result of the test: No diabetes! YAY!
