I too walk with a cane (due to nerve damage in left leg from herniated disk L3-4 back in 2003. I work with an exercise therapist due to my medical conditions to design my exercise program (insurance should cover a Phys Therapist to help you with exercise plan that works for you. The first weight plan used an exercise ball and that did not work for me, so now I am just using hand weights. I also do water aerobics 3 times a week and ride my recumbent (degenerative disc disease) exercise bike 3 times a week. I also us www.myfitnesspal.com to track my food and exercise. I can enter from pc, smartphone, and anywhere I can log in online! Many people enter foods so I do have to watch the food items to make sure that the nutrition facts and serving sizes are correct. Good luck on this part of your gastric bypass journey!
Saint Louis Spark People Rally-Please Come!!!
OK, so how's the MO Botanical Garden on July 17 at 9 a.m. sound? We could meet at the Visitor's Center and walk around for 2 hours-there's a 'Health Fair' going on the same day, too! If you're a resident of St. Louis County or St. Louis City, admission is FREE before noon-otherwise it's $8 for adults...the place opens at 9 a.m., so it wouldn't be quite as hot then, but we could do 10 as well...lots to do/see here & plenty of walking exercise & time to get to know fellow STL 'Sparkers'!!!
Hope to see you there-families welcome-check out the Botanical website for admission pricing
Thanks for the goodie you left. February hasn't been so good for me weight wise. I haven't lost what I wanted, but at least I kept up the exercise! How long did it take you to lose 100 lbs??? I can't even seem to lose 2! 2310 days ago
