New Year! New Start!!!

Wow...2009 was my first intro. Then 2012. One more time...with feeling? I'm a grown-up girl looking to make the necessary changes to turn her life around. I have 3 GREAT kids. I have a job that has turned me on my head this year. I've gone back to college so I can be prepared when I grow up! LOL! I'm going on 6 years of Survival-ship for inflammatory breast cancer.

It's time for me to learn to make me a priority & to see how that feels. I want health & happiness & fit & function. ...

I'm going to do it ALL! I'm going to try it all.

* Walking is the big part of things. I need this not just for exercise but to maintain my mobility.
* Water aerobics 2-3 times a week.
* Dates with Leslie.
* Trying Zumba
* Trying Hip Hop Dance
* Trying Piloxing
* Yoga at least once a week for flexibility
* Strength training to keep my bones strong

Hey Mo! Thanks so much for the SparkGoodie...funny you chose shoes, I have been thinking about going to our local New Balance store for a "real" (read "expensive as hell") pair of shoes. The folks at New Balance will tell you that the New Balance shoes you buy at other shoe stores are different, by which they mean not as good. At the NB store they actually measure your foot and check your stride and ask questions about your workout and such to determine what you "should" be wearing and fit you properly. I figure all THAT is free...whether I decide to invest in the shoes is yet to be determined, but I only have one pair of feet, and they take a lot of abuse from me, so it's worth checking out.

My total loss so far is 28.4 pounds.

My plans for the holidays are to first of all survive the next few weeks trying to get my shopping done (started today), wrapping, decorating (haven't started), along with all the insanity that is open enrollment at my job...try to keep myself on track with my eating and exercise, and then enjoy Christmas with the family...I have most of my family living nearby, and ring in the New Year with friends! My weight goal for my final weigh-in for 2015 is to get down to 227 by 12/29/15.

Mo - Thanks for stopping by my blog. Did you buy a Versa? I almost bought one of those because of the fuel efficiency, but a friend who had already owned one and hated it, talked me out of it. I hope it works out for you honey. Yesterday my trainer reminded me that "there is always someone else out there with it worse than you." And that got me over myself. I've got problems, sure, but I'm still going in the right direction and dealing with them in a healthy way. Now to figure out why the water for the washing machine keeps backing up and soaking the wall and floor. I swear this house is going to rot out from underneath me!!!
