My name is Monique & I've been on SPARK since 2008. Take in fewer calories than you expend & you have a winning calculation for weight loss. Unfortunately for most of us there's more to it than a math equation. Math was never my strong suit anyway.

I was able to lose 50 pounds last year. I started getting regular chiropractic care, I was eating better, I had a major stressor remove himself from my life, I was exercising harder & more frequently. And it worked. The planets aligned & the weight came off.

I need to re-align my planets again. I've gotten off kilter & lost my way. I'd really like to be a LOT closer to my "ultimate goal" by my 10 year SPARK anniversary. That would make me feel like a Success Story.

Other interesting tidbits:
* I'm the Mom of one spoiled dog & 3 mostly grown boys
* I'm a 7 year Survivor of Inflammatory Breast Cancer
* I'm a part time college student who will get her Associate's in May 2017.
* I help care for my 95 year old Grandmother with Alzheimer's
* My knees are bone on bone

* Get 40 miles in one month on my Fitbit (ACHIEVED 12-2016)
* Walk a 5K (3.1 miles)

* 315 (5% goal) by 12.25.15 (ACHIEVED 3-19-16)
* 299 (10% goal) by 6.8.16 (ACHIEVED JUNE 2016)
* 285 (15% goal) by 9.3.16 (ACHIEVED SEPT 2016)
* 270 (last seen in 1990!) by 12.25.16
* 256.5 by my 50th...3.8.17

***LONG TERM Goal: Walk one half marathon!



My Program:
I'm going to do it ALL! I'm going to try it all.

* Walking is the big part of things. I need this not just for exercise but to maintain my mobility.
* Water aerobics 2-3 times a week.
* Dates with Leslie.
* Trying Zumba (DONE! LOVE!!!)
* Trying Hip Hop Dance
* Trying Piloxing
* Yoga at least once a week for flexibility
* Strength training to keep my bones strong

    Are you having a difficult time staying motivated, doing your exercises, eating right, drinking your water? Do you need some friendly challenges and competition to get out of your rut?

    Why not join the BIGGEST LOSER TEAM? We're a group of men and women, all ages, all fitness levels, all striving to live a healthier life. Regardless of fitness level, whether you're new to healthy eating or a seasoned pro, there's always something to learn from others. These teams are also a great source of motivation! Just about anything can be conquered with your teammates cheering you on!

    We've got several members with fitness and nutrition limitations. They absolutely participate, just with modifications approved by their doctors. If you'd like to join but aren't sure at first, request to be placed as an honorary member! You're still a vital part of your team, you just don't have to worry about the points for the all-teams challenge standings.

    The BL Challenge is a 10 week challenge, run 4 times a year (spring, summer, fall and winter), made up of 10 teams with 24 active members on each. We compete in weekly nutrition and fitness challenges. Within each individual team you'll soon find your amazing teammates are there to support you, offer friendship, challenge you and keep you accountable, just when you need it most!

    The Winter challenge round is in it's last couple weeks and the Spring challenge will be starting March 8.
