Hello Monarch.... thought I'd introduce myself...

I joined the Thornton Sparkers team on 9/24 and have set a personal challange. I am going to send a message to everyone on the TS team... all 305. The TS team boards are sooooo quiet I thought it might be nice to get everyone talking.

A little bit about me... I am a walker and do endurance races (1/2 marathons) on a regular basis. I've lived in Thornton for almost 30 years and am a Colorado native. I joined Spark People to get motivation to loose weight. Feel free to check out my page.

Sounds like you enjoy getting out on the bike for your cardio. Hope you found some inspiratioin during the summer months. Now that the weather is changing, you might give walking a chance. It's a great cardio exercise, even when it's cold out. Good comfy clothes, good shoes and a warm jacket makes walking an easy replacement for biking in the colder months. Maybe posting regularly on the TS boards might also add to your inspiration to shed those pesky pounds.

Here is a challenge to everyone... (check out the post on the general board)

Post on the message boards at least once a week
Complete your nutrition and fitness trackers each day and let us know how things are going
Say Hi to other TS team members

MISSGOOD and I started this challange.

Hope you will join us.

Hello and emoticon to,

I'm pretty new at this myself, but wanted to let you know that it's o.k. to just jump right in and play, i.e. "click. click. click". It's how I have been learning my way around. So far I have encountered only splendid, encouraging and helpful people. Stop by and say hello. I hope you try isometric exercise, it's perfect for adults with mobility issues, chronic pain, have been sedentary for a while, or who tire easily. Yet even if you're at the top of your game, isometrics can give you the added edge towards meeting your goals, even if that is finishing a triathlon! emoticon

See my page/blog and the new team is here:
You can find it on my page too, just click the "Isometrics For The Rest of Us" icon.
