The outside of a horse is good for the inside of a woman!

I live in northern Wisconsin, and am down to 2 backyard horses that I share with my husband. He rarely rides, and my regular riding has turned into irregular riding due partly to very strange weather and partly to some minor injuries and arthritis. My chiropractor suggested that my husband help me by grooming and tacking up so that it's easier for me to ride, but he was not enthusiastic!

I will be 66 soon, and am happy tor report that with the help of Spark People the weight has been coming off, slowly - finally. Losing this extra weight really helps my long-term goal of keeping strong and healthy.

My Goals:
Maintain a healthy weight range. Keep strong enough to continue riding my horses.

My Program:
At least 30 minutes of aerobic activity most days of the week, usually a Leslie Sansone DVD. Strength training 3 times per week. Track all food eaten, even if it's over my calorie range!

Thank you so much for sending the goodie and for continuing to cheer me on even though I have been MIA for months. I have managed to move my agency to a new location, but finances at work continue to be tough and stressful. Things have been up and down at home as my husband had a cardiac stent put in. He is fine now, but it was worrisome. I am exercising regularly but not tracking food. My weight has been stuck at the same place. At least I haven't gained! I haven't been giving time to SP or my online friends. Sorry! Anyway, I appreciate your continued support. Maybe I'll find my way back to more regular posting at some point. emoticon

Thank you so much for all the goodies and good wishes! I'm keeping up the fitness minutes by doing 10 mins of step-ups every morning, plus 90 mins lawn mowing every week, plus gardening whenever weather permits and I have time, plus riding out for about 90 mins (sometimes more) four or five times a week. It soon adds up! But the downside is that the pounds are slowly but surely creeping back on, despite all the exercise, and I think I'm going to have to start talking strictly to myself again in the near future...
